Abstract: An application executing on a mobile device generates a geo-positional query including a time stamp representing the time of the query. The application can be, for example, an augmented reality application, a pointing search application, or a mapping application that searches based on geolocation and/or physical proximity. The query can include, in addition to a location, one or more of a direction, orientation, and camera field of view of the mobile device. A system processes the query to return a time-based state of an object and/or location addressed by the mobile device at the time of the query. The system can use the time stamp to identify which objects may have been located at a certain location at a certain time and/or to identify the state of located objects at a certain time. For example, the state of an electronic billboard can identify an advertisement displayed at the time.

Abstract: Systems and methods for the accessing of information that may be associated with static or dynamic geo-located objects, which objects may or may not have corresponding real world counterparts, utilize attributes including of one or more angles of directional access associated with the geo-located objects. Information available to a user of a mobile device can be varied depending upon an angle of directional access derived from the mobile device's real world position and pointing direction in relation to the real world position and orientation of the geo-located objects.

Abstract: A method for presenting flight control system data onboard an aircraft is provided. The method detects a current operating mode of an automatic flight control system; determines a current aircraft operation, based on the current operating mode; identifies, based on the current aircraft operation, potential aircraft operations associated with a plurality of operating modes of the automatic flight control system, and wherein the plurality of operating modes comprises the current operating mode; presents, via a display device onboard the aircraft, a first plain-text description of the current operating mode and the current aircraft operation; and presents, via the display device, a plurality of plain-text descriptions, wherein each of the plain-text descriptions is associated with a respective one of the potential aircraft operations.

Using user preferences and pre-set thresholds related to specific types of points of interest or geolocated object a route from a start location to a desired destination is created to achieve a desired arrival time while optionally including various proposed combinations of additional stops and/or a transit types.

Abstract: Disclosed are database-related systems, apparatus, methods and computer program products for processing personal preferences submitted by users regarding feed items of a social network feed of a social networking system. In some implementations, personal preference data received from computing devices associated with users of the social networking system is monitored. The personal preference data indicates personal preferences submitted by the users to apply to selected feed items of the social network feed. The personal preference data indicates that each user feels positive or negative about information indicated by a selected feed item. A characteristic of the personal preference data is assessed. A post extends along an axis of the cylinder and an intermediate sleeve is disposed around the post to form a post annulus. An outer sleeve is secured to the tensioner ring and defines a cavity into which the post and intermediate sleeve are inserted so that an annulus is formed between the sleeve and the outer sleeve. The Outer sleeve is coupled to the intermediate sleeve so that the outer sleeve may pivot on the coupling between the outer sleeve and the intermediate sleeve relative to the intermediate sleeve. The intermediate sleeve is coupled to the post so that the intermediate sleeve may pivot on the coupling between the intermediate sleeve and the post relative to the post.

Abstract: A subsea riser assembly connects two tubular members with axial movement of an outer sleeve. The assembly includes a first tubular member having an end, and a second tubular member having an end with a plurality of box end fingers separated by slots, the second tubular member coaxial with the first tubular member. The end of the first tubular member is inserted into the end of the second tubular member. An outer sleeve having an inner diameter that engages an outer diameter of each box end finger. Axial movement of the outer sleeve relative to the box end fingers causes the inner diameter of the outer sleeve to interact with the outer diameter of the box end fingers, thereby causing the box end fingers to contract radially. The radial contraction of the box end fingers secures the first tubular member to the second tubular member in a made-up position.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described for evaluating maneuvers of an aircraft. In one embodiment, a method comprises performing steps on one or more processors. The steps comprise: setting a mode of a handheld device to a training mode. When in the training mode, the steps comprise tracking realtime flight data; retrieving standards data based on a maneuver type associated with the realtime flight data; and evaluating the realtime flight data based on the standards data.

Abstract: A system includes a cache, coupled to a receiver, to store received content and advertisements. An interface in the receiver detects the occurrence of an advantageous condition during the play of content retrieved from the cache. The receiver locates one or more advertisements in the cache, and enables the display of a user interface in place of the content so long as the advantageous condition is detected. The user interface includes selectable indicia of the located advertisements and an indicia of the content. The interface is adapted to locate one or more advertisements using markers that are inserted into the content by the interface, and pointers to the one or more advertisements associated with the markers, the pointers having a stored association to the markers.

Abstract: A system includes a receiver to receive content and an advertisement. The system further includes a cache, coupled to the receiver, to store the content and the advertisement. An interface in the receiver receives an updated advertisement and updating instructions, the updating instructions to enable the receiver to replace the stored advertisement with the updated advertisement. The receiver detects a starting point of the advertisement and creates a marker and inserts it into the content to indicate said starting point, and stores the advertisement from the content to a memory storage location separate from the content, and creates and stores a pointer to the memory location. The interface detects a user-initiated pause in the viewing of content, retrieves the updated advertisement from storage, and provides a user interface that enables the user to view the retrieved advertisement for as long as the viewing of the content remains paused.

Abstract: A push-up tensioner for maintaining a tensile force in a riser having an axis couples to a floating platform and maintains the tensile force while the riser tilts variably from the vertical. The tensioner includes a plurality of cylinders having a lower end pivotally coupled to the deck. The cylinders are substantially perpendicular to the deck in the running position and at an angle to the deck in the tensioning position. After running of the riser, a placement assembly moves the cylinders from the running position to the tensioning position. A tensioner ring is run on the riser proximate to an upper end of the cylinders, and the cylinders are then automatically coupled to the tensioner ring.
