The presentation component may be operative to detect when a display size or resolution has changed from one used for an original layout of a montage. The presentation component may reposition, or reflow, the tiles in the montage in the changed display in a way that preserves the spatial characteristics of the tiles to each other. An authoring component may reflow tiles automatically when a tile is deleted from a montage to minimize blank space between tiles. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

Abstract: A system, apparatus, and method are provided for enhancing entropy in a pseudo-random number generator (PRNG) using remote sources. According to one embodiment of the present invention, first, the PRNG's internal state is initialized. Local seeding information is then obtained from a local host. For added security, additional seeding information is obtained from one or more remote entropy servers operating independently to each maintain a constantly updated state pool. Finally, the PRNG is stirred based upon the local seeding information, and the additional seeding information.

Abstract: A method for optimizing a nuclear reactor refueling outage schedule using a computer system coupled to a database is provided. The method includes, in one embodiment, inputting into the computer system data relating to a current status of a nuclear reactor, with the reactor data including information related to current tooling, processes, and financial data; storing the reactor data in the database; and inputting into the computer system a proposed refueling outage schedule profile, with the outage schedule profile including critical path tasks and an estimated duration for each of the critical path tasks. The method further includes generating a gap analysis by comparing the proposed refueling outage schedule profile to a predetermined refueling outage schedule profile, where the predetermined schedule profile represents an optimum schedule; and determining the critical path tasks where adjustments to the task durations result in an optimized refueling outage schedule profile using the gap analysis.

Abstract: A panel set is defined within a grid area. The grid area enclosing the panel set is then used to tile a sheet. Instead of defining each panel's position within an entire sheet, a single panel set is defined, and then that single panel set is tiled. The definitions for the panel sets may be stored externally from the program using the panel set definitions, thereby allowing definitions to be added more easily as compared to hard-coding the definitions within the program itself. The number of panel sets tiled within a sheet may be determined based on the size of the sheet being printed on. For example, more business cards may be tiled within a legal size sheet as compared to a standard 8.5×11 sheet.
