  • Publication number: 20240122599
Abstract: An assembly for a closure device includes a cap with a distal portion having a recess to receive tissue and a proximal portion fitting over a face of an endoscope. The proximal portion includes fold(s) between a first region and a first end of a second region. The cap expands from a collapsed state in which an angle of the first region relative to a longitudinal axis of the endoscope is at a minimum to an expanded state in which the angle is increased. Based on the angle and reflectivity of the first region, an endoscopic camera on the face is provided an increased field of view in the expanded state relative to the collapsed state. The device captures tissue when the cap is in the expanded state via an actuation mechanism extending through a channel of the endoscope into the distal portion.

  • Publication number: 20230320735
Abstract: A system includes an adapter, a member and a clip which includes jaws connected to one another such that the jaws are movable between insertion and initial deployed configurations. The member is releasably coupled to the clip and movably connected to the adapter. The member includes a connector at a distal end thereof releasably engages an opening extending through a first jaw such that a longitudinal movement of the member relative to the adapter moves the clip between the insertion configuration, the deployed configuration and toward a review configuration. The member retracts the clip proximally over the adapter so that the clip is forced open as the clip is retracted over the adapter freeing the clip from tissue. The connector includes a deformable portion deforming to release the member from the first jaw toward a final deployed configuration when a distal force exceeds a predetermined threshold value.

Abstract: A system includes an adapter mounted over a distal end of an insertion device, a clip and a first extending member. The clip includes jaws movable between an insertion configuration, with the jaws separated and an initial deployed configuration with the jaws drawn together. The clip is biased toward the initial configuration. The first jaw includes a connection element and a first member releasably coupled to the first jaw connection element permits movement of the adapter relative to the clip while the first member remains coupled to the clip to enhance visual observation of the clip. The first member retracts the clip proximally over the adapter so that the clip is forced open as the clip is retracted over the adapter freeing the clip from tissue on which it had been clipped.

  • Patent number: 11408242
Abstract: A sacrificial shroud is disposed over a packing element of a downhole packer to provide isolation from incompatible wellbore fluids and to minimize a tendency for swabbing or packer preset due to fluid flow past the packing element during run-in, thereby allowing for faster run-in speeds. The shroud may be depletive or consumable, such as by dissolution into a wellbore fluid or by melting at a predetermined downhole thermodynamic condition. The shroud may take the form of a sleeve or an applied coating.

  • Patent number: 11160576
Abstract: An amputation system includes a cutting element having a cutting blade traversing a V-shape. The V-shape has a vertex and an angle in a range of 90-120°. A rod, rigidly coupled to the cutting element, has its longitudinal axis aligned with the vertex so it bisects the angle of the V-shape. A barrel having a bore receives at least a portion of the rod therein wherein the rod's outboard end resides in the bore. An energetic energy source, positioned in the bore adjacent to the rod's outboard end, generates a pressure force that is incident on the rod's outboard end. The pressure force is one that peaks within 0.5 milliseconds to propel the rod from the bore at a velocity in a range of 300 to 1000 feet per second.
