  • Publication number: 20120128938
Abstract: An etching method for selective introduction of structures into surfaces of different substrates, such as glass or glass ceramic substrates, is provided. The method provides for surface structuring using an etch mask. The etchmask allows for the production of very fine structures on the substrate surfaces using liquid etching media. In this method the etch mask is produced on the substrate.

  • Publication number: 20120003386
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for producing a material suitable for producing ceramic oxide coatings, comprising the following steps: (a) preparing at least one first compound of a metal cation, selected from the cations of manganese, cerium, gadolinium, and/or yttrium, having at least one organic anion or an anion comprising an organic part, (b) dissolving or suspending the compound(s) prepared according to (a) in a protic, hydrolytically active solvent, such that the compound(s) is (are) present in a completely dissolved or colloidally dispersed form, (c) heating the suspension or solution thus formed in a closed vessel to at least 80° C., and (d) expanding and cooling the suspension or solution thus formed. Using said method, amorphous macromolecules are obtained, comprising molecular or polycyclic complexes having a primary particle size of <1 nm and an agglomerate size of 5 to 120 nm, preferably 10 to 80 nm.

  • Publication number: 20110259419
Abstract: The solar cell has a pigmented dielectric reflector, which includes two dielectric layers with different refractive indices and pigments embedded in the layers, so that the solar cell has good light-trapping properties and high efficiency with a small reflector layer thickness. The material systems suitable for producing the pigmented dielectric reflector are also part of the invention.

  • Publication number: 20100047556
Abstract: The invention relates to the production and use of a gray hue palette for decorative coatings based on a sol-gel method for glass and glass-ceramic articles, wherein flake-form pigments and solid lubricant are used in specific mass ratios as decorative pigments. The pigmentation provides a high-temperature-stable decorative layer, has good adhesive strength between the substrate and the decorative layer, has good impermeability relative to fluids and gases during use, as well as a high resistance to scratching. The invention further relates to glass or glass-ceramic articles with decorative coatings which are produced, in particular, according to the method of the invention, which are suitable particularly for use as glass-ceramic cooktops due to the named good layer properties of the decorative layer.

  • Publication number: 20100028629
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing a glass or glass-ceramic article, comprising a decorative layer and a sealing layer. The two layers are produced by means of a sol-gel process and contain, in addition, at least fillers and inorganic pigments, wherein it is possible for the pigmentation of the decorative layer and the sealing layer to be the same or else different. In order to achieve a good adhesive strength and impermeability of the decorative coating, certain composition rules in regard to the quantity and kind of inorganic pigments used must be observed and, surprisingly, are different for the sealing layer according to the invention than for the decorative layer. The invention relates, furthermore, to a glass or glass-ceramic article with decorative coatings, produced particularly according to the method of the invention, said article being suitable especially for use as glass-ceramic cooktops.
