  • Publication number: 20150129388
Abstract: A coupling assembly for transferring a drive torque from a drive shaft (2) to a secondary unit, of a motor vehicle, including a drive shaft (2), an output (9) with at least one friction surface (20, 30), an armature (7) that is adjustable relative to the output (9) by energising an energisable winding (4) and that has friction coupling means with a friction surface (19, 25), as well as at least one liquid friction coupling means with a shear gap (21, 29, 52) filled with a fluid (16), wherein the friction coupling means and the liquid friction coupling means are part of a common coupling (14) designed as a combined friction disc and liquid friction coupling in which the adjustable armature (7) delimits the shear gap (21, 29, 52).

  • Publication number: 20080131837
Abstract: An arrangement for the detection of surface contours of objects, especially in the field of dentistry, for generating a virtual 3D model, having an energy source, whose energy output is directed onto the surface of the object in order to deliver energy into the object. A sensor is provided on the side of the object away from the energy source, to detect the intensity of the energy emerging from the object. The energy absorbed in the object and determined in an energy difference module is coordinated with the layer thickness of the object, in order to image the respective surface contour by way of the layer thickness, as height information related to the surface of the incidence of energy into the object.

  • Patent number: 6736195
Abstract: A containment (5) for a heat producing device has cooling fins (15) to dissipate the produced heat. In this type of cooling fin arrangement the cooling fins comprise, traditionally, smooth outer surfaces (17) so that in a boundary layer (18) the flow pattern of the cooling fluid along the cooling fins is laminar. The present invention provides means (20) to break this laminar flow pattern in the boundary layer and herewith improves the heat transfer from the cooling fins to the cooling liquid. This invention can advantageously be applied to viscous fan clutch covers.
