  • Publication number: 20060264308
Abstract: The invention is directed to novel packages and to a method and device for producing packing coverings for composite cardboard/plastic packages. Specifically, beverage packages that include an opening for pouring and/or removing the product contained therein. The method incorporates a reliable solution to prevent contact between the contained product and the raw cardboard material in an area proximate to the opening during storage, after the package is opened for the first time, and after resealing of the opening. In variations of the package and its method of making, the cardboard is punched with an opening defined by a circular edge. The edge and the raw cardboard are coated with a plastic material, and a smaller pour opening is centrally punched inside the punched opening leaving the circular edge sealed by the plastic coating. The package is then creased, seamed, folded, and than later sterilized, filled, and sealed.

  • Publication number: 20060094578
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a cap for laminated carton packaging for beverages, wherein the laminated carton packaging for beverages comprise a cap made of plastic and a packaging body, tools for deep drawing of such a cap, method of manufacturing such a cap as well as the laminated carton packaging for beverages provided therewith. In order to create a constructively simple to assemble and therefore cost-effective cap which can be manufactured and to make available the respective tools as well as the method for their manufacture, it is provided that the cap has a spout element provided with a screw thread which is closed by a screw cap and that the cap is deep drawn. For this purpose various tools and manufacturing methods are described.

  • Publication number: 20050224528
Abstract: A reclosable pouring element for opening and reclosing packages, especially rectangular multi-layer composite packages, with a base body having a circumferential flange and a lid joined flexibly thereto, as well as a method for its manufacture and a package provided with such a pouring element are presented and described. In order to retain the good barrier properties of a package provided with a pouring element even with a low overall height of the pouring element before the package is opened for the first time, it is provided that in the region of its pouring opening the base body has a plate whose contour substantially corresponds to the contour of the pouring opening. The lid is connected securely to the plate so that the lid at the same time serves as an opening element.

  • Patent number: 6845902
Abstract: Proposed for a square flat gable composite packing are a resealable spout element (1) and the manufacture of a flat gable composite packing with such a spout element (1) that eliminate the disadvantage of known spout elements, namely that such packings can no longer be opened once the sealed-on opening aids for initially opening the packing lose their non-positive bond with the packing during transport or as the result of inadequate proposed, with a cap (2), in which an opening element (4) sealing. A resealable spout element (1) is attached to the packing interior can be bonded with the cap (2) to form an undetachable unit by means of a connecting element (5) that penetrates an opening surface present in the packing.

  • Patent number: 6810640
Abstract: Methods of producing a laminated package with an opening which is sealed by a tear-off strip or a pouring element as well as a corresponding laminated package are described. To be able to produce a laminated package with such a closure inexpensively, the following steps are provided in the method punching out an opening in a packaging material, coating the packaging material at least in the area of the opening, creating a package sheathing from the coated packaging material, conveying the package sheathing to a filling machine or to an equipment unit from the filling machine, and attaching a tear-open strip to the opening in the package sheathing in the filling machine or in the equipment unit upstream from the filling machine.

  • Patent number: 6554181
Abstract: A reclosable pouring element with a base member and a closure lid which serves at the same time as the opening device. A flange surrounding the opening surface of the pouring element is fixedly connected to a flat gable top composite packaging. The closure lid has lateral bearing pins which are supported in corresponding recesses of the base member, in which a safe connection between the base member and the closure lid and a reliable opening/closing function of the flat gable top composite packaging is provided. The recesses in the base member are arranged on the package side so that the closure lid can be clamped from the package side into the recesses for receiving the bearing pins provided in the base member.

  • Patent number: 6216945
Abstract: A pouring element for attachment to a package containing flowable material, and having a pouring opening covered with a perforated or otherwise weakened material. The pouring element of the present invention allows for the opening of the package without contamination of the contents therein. In one embodiment of the pouring element, there exists an opening means that has an attached support element and which is hinged to a base plate portion of the pouring element. In conjunction with movement of a lid portion, the support element and opening means act to penetrate a tearable material covering a pouring opening of the package, thereby allowing the contents thereof to be dispensed. In another embodiment, the opening means may be a portion of the support element and may be affixed to the lid. After initial opening of the lid, the support element may position itself such that closing of the lid will cause penetration of the tearable material layer by the opening means, and thus the opening of the package.

  • Patent number: 5054684
Abstract: The invention relates to a package for liquid made of a coated cardboard composite, having a pierceable opening for a drinking straw, which has incisions 11 running towards one another in the form of rays or a star, and perferably a cutout 9 located at the star point of the incisions. An opening thus constructed for a drinking straw easily enables an arbitrarily concentric expansion of the star flaps located between the incisions, so that said flags rest sealingly on the drinking straw in each case. This guarantees for different drinking straws a uniform opening for the drinking straw which can be introduced into the multilayer cardboard composite both before it is coated and after it is coated.
