  • Patent number: 8966840
Abstract: An arrangement for closing an opening in a vehicle and method for producing such an arrangement. In an arrangement for closing an opening in a vehicle, comprising a pane and an anti-shatter film attached to the pane, in the border region of the pane, the pane and the anti-shatter file are provided with a foam encapsulation. The foam encapsulation is arranged at least particularly spaced apart from an edge of the anti-shatter film, which edge is formed on the pane.

  • Publication number: 20140084636
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a sliding-roof frame of a roof-opening system of a motor vehicle in a tool having at least one mold cavity. One embodiment comprises the steps of: inserting at least one semifinished part configured in the shape of a panel into the tool; deep-drawing the semifinished part in the tool for configuring at least one deep-drawn section of the sliding-roof frame, wherein the semifinished part is formed from a glass-fiber reinforced thermoplastic and the step of deep drawing is a thermoforming process; then, introducing a plastic material into the mold cavity of the tool for forming at least one formed section, which is injection-molded or foamed, and for bonding said formed section to the deep-drawn section; and demolding the sliding-roof frame from the tool.

  • Patent number: 7524389
Abstract: A process and tool for producing a composite body part for a motor vehicle, especially for producing a roof module, the tool having a first tool part and a second tool part which are movable relative to one another. The outer skin is inserted in the first tool part, at least part of the peripheral edge area of the side of the outer skin facing the first tool part being moved into sealing contact with a seal arrangement which is provided on the first tool part, plastic material is applied to the side of the outer skin facing away from the first tool part, the second tool part provision shaping the plastic material, and the composite body part being released from the seal arrangement and removed from the tool.

  • Publication number: 20090058147
Abstract: The invention relates to a roof module for a vehicle with an outer skin (12), on the inside of which a support structure (14) containing plastic material is integrally formed, the support structure being provided on its inside with an adhesive surface (18) which is designed for resting on the edge (22) of an opening in the bodywork in order to be adhesively bonded to the vehicle bodywork. According to the invention, the support structure (14) is provided with an undercut (24) between the adhesive surface (18) and the outer skin (12). The invention furthermore relates to a corresponding method of production.

  • Publication number: 20080179772
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for production of a composite chassis piece (16, 28) for a motor vehicle, in particular, for production of a roof module in a tool (10), comprising a first (14) and a second tool part (12) which may be adjusted relative to each other. An outer skin (16) is laid in the first tool part, at least one part (24) of the circumferential region (22) of the side of the outer skin facing the first tool part is tightly inserted in a sealing arrangement (18) provided on the first tool part, plastic material (28) is applied to the side of the outer skin facing away from the first tool part, whereby a shaping of the plastic material is performed by the second tool part and the composite chassis piece is released from the seal arrangement and removed from the tool. The invention further relates to a corresponding tool.
