  • Patent number: 9000902
Abstract: A driver assistance system and method for operating a driver assistance system, the driver assistance system provides a plurality of distance sensors, in particular ultrasonic sensors, which are spatially distributed and communicate with each other with the aid of a data bus. The sensors have an identical design and may be initialized by themselves using a method without a control unit and may synchronize the distance detection among themselves. The overall result of a measurement of the sensors is supplied to an output unit and displayed to the driver.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 24, 2008
Date of Patent: April 7, 2015
    Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbH
    Inventors: Matthias Eckel, Juergen Hoetzel

  • Publication number: 20080117096
Abstract: A device for distance measurement with the aid of electromagnetic waves includes a transmitting device for transmitting, in a measuring mode, electromagnetic waves as a transmitted signal to a measured object, a receiving device for receiving, in the measuring mode, the electromagnetic waves back-scattered by the measured object as a received signal, and an analyzer device for determining, in an analysis mode, the propagation time, and for outputting a measured distance, the analyzer device having a compensation unit for compensating distance measurements carried out during the analysis mode.

  • Patent number: 7039549
Abstract: A sensor system for determining distances is provided. A predefining unit controls an amplifier unit and/or a sensor unit as a function of selectable predefined values for a detection cycle. Contrary to known sensor systems, different detection cycles are implementable in a simple manner using this procedure.

  • Patent number: 6940449
Abstract: In order to create a method for eliminating dummy objects in short-range pulse radar sensors, in which radar pulses are transmitted at a defined frequency, and the time until they are reflected by an object and received again is measured, and besides the transmitted pulse (TX pulse), a delayed second pulse (RX pulse) is generated, which avoids the known disadvantages of the prior art and with which the elimination of dummy objects in short-range pulse radar sensors can be assured, it is provided that the transmitted pulses (TX pulses) and the additionally generated second pulses (RX pulses) delayed relative to them are modulated by a binary phase-shift keying process.

  • Publication number: 20040102919
Abstract: The invention relates inter alia to a sensor system (50) used for distance calculation. A setpoint selection unit (58) controls an amplifier unit (54) and/or a sensor unit (52) depending on selectable setpoints for a cycle of detection. Contrary to known sensor systems, different detection cycles can be carried out in a very simple manner.
