Abstract: Described is a method for providing measurement data for value documents to a specified purpose of use employing a value-document processing device which has a transport device for transporting the value documents, and a sensor device for capturing at least one property of value documents transported in the value-document processing apparatus by means of the transport device and forming measurement data describing the captured property, in which value documents are transported to the sensor device by means of the transport device and measurement data for these are respectively captured by means of the sensor device, it is tested whether the measurement data for the value documents meet a suitability criterion specified for the purpose of use, and measurement data for respectively one of the value documents either are permanently stored or discarded in dependence on the result of the testing.

Abstract: A method for supplying measuring data of a value-document processing apparatus for processing value documents of stipulated different processing types, has a sensor device, a control device, and a display device. Data sets are read, which respectively contain, for at least two of the processing types, processing-type data by means of which the processing types can be distinguished and the number of the value documents of the respective processing type that are to be fed to the value-document processing apparatus, and display data for actuating the display device are so established from the data sets that, upon actuation with the display data, the display device displays the processing types and the numbers of the value documents. The feeding of value documents is interrupted and measuring data from the intermediate memory are permanently stored in a permanent memory, and during the permanent storing and/or after the permanent storing of the measuring data in the permanent memory the intermediate memory is released again. After release of the intermediate memory the feeding of individual value documents and capturing and storing of measuring data for the fed value documents in the intermediate memory is restarted.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for determining a class reference data record for classifying documents of value includes creating a class reference image using a multiplicity of reference images of already classified documents of value in the same class; and creating a class reference data record having at least one class reference parameter using the class reference image. The pixel and intensity values of the respective pixel in the class reference image are a function of the pixel values of the relevant pixels in the multiplicity of reference images of already classified documents of value in the same class. The method includes determining at least one quantitative property of a document of value to be classified; and classifying the document of value to be classified on the basis of a comparison between the quantitative property of the document of value to be classified and the class reference data record.
