  • Patent number: 5260396
Abstract: Water resistant films and coatings are prepared by treating films or coatings of water soluble or dispersible grafted proteins prepared with monoethylenically unsaturated monomers at above 40.degree. C. and/or with at least one compound which is a hardener for proteins, and are useful as compostable packaging materials or as outer layers of diapers.

  • Patent number: 5207941
Abstract: Phosphate-free and low-phosphate detergents which contain surfactants as essential constituents also contain from 0.1 to 20% by weight, based on the particular formulation, of water-soluble or water-dispersible grafted proteins obtainable by free radical copolymerization of(A) monoethylenically unsaturated monomers in the presence of(B) proteins in a weight ratio of (A):(B) of (0.5-90):(99.5-10).

  • Patent number: 5208075
Abstract: Water-soluble or water-dispersible grafts of proteins with monoethylenically unsaturated monomers are used as sizing agents for staple fiber and filament yarns.

  • Patent number: 4941436
Abstract: Valve seat inserts of a four-cycle internal-combustion engine are cooled by the lubricating oil of the oil circulating system. An oil duct extending in the camshaft housing is bored in such a manner that the lubricating oil flows from the oil duct into a ring duct surrounding the valve seat inserts. By means of a projection which closes off the ring duct, a forced flow around the valve seat insert is achieved before the lubricating oil flows out of the ring duct through an opening located close to the lubricating oil inlet. From the ring duct the lubricating oil flows through a discharge pipe to the camshaft where it is sprayed on the cams.
