  • Patent number: 9834635
Abstract: Water-soluble or water-swellable polymers are described, containing a) 20.0 to 98.99 mole percent of one or more independently recurring structural units of the formula (1) and b) 1.0 to 79.99 mole percent of one or more independently recurring structural units of the formula (2), and c) 0.01 to 8.0 mole percent of one or more independently recurring cross-linking structural units, which are obtained from one or more monomers having at least two olefinic double bonds. The polymers are suitable, for example, as thickeners or yield point formers, in particular in cosmetic, dermatological or pharmaceutical compositions.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 20, 2010
Date of Patent: December 5, 2017
    Assignee: Clariant International Ltd.
Inventors: Peter Klug, Dirk Fischer, Thomas Lindner, Matthias Kunze, Wiebke Moeller, Carina Mildner, Sebastiano Lo Vasco
  • Publication number: 20150342856
Abstract: Copolymers are described, containing a) 20.0-99.9% by weight of one or more structural units resulting from polymerizable substances of the following structural formula (I) in which R2 is a linear or branched saturated alkyl radical having 6 to 200 carbon atoms or a linear or branched, mono- or polyunsaturated alkenyl radical having 6 to 200 carbon atoms, and R1, Y, n and m are each as defined in claims 1, b) 0.1-20.0% by weight of one or more structural units resulting from polymerizable quaternary ammonium compounds, and c) 0-60.0% by weight of one or more nonionic structural units resulting from one or more further polymerizable substances. The copolymers are advantageously suitable, for example, for the production of cosmetic, dermatological or pharmaceutical formulations.

  • Patent number: 8436600
Abstract: An embodiment of the invention relates to an apparatus including a power semiconductor device and a processor coupled thereto. The processor is configured to provide a control signal to the power semiconductor device to regulate an output characteristic of the apparatus. The processor models an internal characteristic of the power semiconductor device and alters the control signal if the modeled internal characteristic crosses a threshold value. In an exemplary embodiment, the internal characteristic is a channel temperature of a MOSFET. A sensor such as a thermistor is coupled to or included within the processor to sense a parameter separate from the power semiconductor device, such as a processor temperature, and the processor is configured to adapt the modeled internal characteristic to the sensed parameter.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 15, 2011
Date of Patent: May 7, 2013
    Assignee: Infineon Technologies Austria AG
Inventors: Georg Pelz, Michael Lenz, Matthias Kunze
