  • Publication number: 20110120416
Abstract: A diesel internal combustion engine that is operated advantageously at least predominantly according to the diesel principle, with a multi-fuel adaptation unit that reacts to various fuels of different mixtures and adapts an operating mode of the internal combustion engine to these fuels, wherein the multi-fuel adaptation unit comprises at least the following elements: a fuel characterization, a combustion-chamber filling that can be adapted as a function of a characteristic fuel, external ignition that can be allocated to each cylinder of the internal combustion engine, at least one control device that implements a first control strategy in which, in a lower load range, external ignition is performed, and a second control strategy in which automatic ignition is performed in a load range that is higher relative to the lower load range, a combustion-point control that can be adapted automatically to the characterized fuel, and a conversion-rate control that can be adapted automatically to the characterized

  • Publication number: 20110037575
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for providing energy to passive tags in a radio-frequency identification system in which a radio-frequency identification system uses the passive tags, a reader/writer sends commands and continuous waves alternately during a communication process, and the tags can obtain energy from these signals sent by the reader/writer, wherein at least one period is selected from those periods for transmitting the continuous waves, and for the continuous wave transmitting signals during this period, an enhanced transmitting power is used, or a extended transmitting time is used, or during this period continuous waves are sent additionally to the passive tags by an independent energy supplying apparatus provided separately, so that the passive tags can obtain from the continuous waves during the selected period more energy for reading and/or writing, thereby improving the reliability of the reading and/or writing operations, and increasing the rewritable range of the radio-frequency identification

  • Publication number: 20110037570
Abstract: An apparatus, system and communication method, which is particularly suited for a radio frequency identification system (RFID), wherein a reflection-transmission apparatus is disposed in a radio system and, during a communication process, the reflection and transmission features of reflection-transmission apparatus presented at the radio frequency are changed to introduce a multi-path signal component which changes with time. Consequently, during the communication process, a receiving apparatus receives and combines the multi-path signal component of communication signals and the radio system performs communication by utilizing time diversity effects. The apparatus, system and method provide effective and continued reduction of communication blind spots in the RFID system, thereby improving the overall success rate for the RFID system to read tags and accomplishing a better balance with the overall reading time.

  • Publication number: 20100300069
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for operating a motor vehicle internal combustion engine having a controller for adjusting NOx emissions in the exhaust gas, wherein a NOx controller is combined with a combustion controller. A control unit of an internal combustion engine is further proposed, said control unit comprising first control means for performing cylinder pressure-based combustion control, and second control means for performing NOx control, wherein the first and second control means are linked to each other.

  • Patent number: 7806100
Abstract: In order to improve a combustion process of a motor vehicle, in particular with regard to emissions and/or the development of noise, a method for regulating an injection profile is provided, in which method a fuel is injected directly into a combustion chamber, wherein the regulation brings about a change in the injection profile (23) at least during a first work cycle on the basis of at least one parameter which is recorded during the first work cycle. Furthermore, a corresponding direct-injection internal combustion engine is provided.
