  • Patent number: 9583774
Abstract: The operational availability of a motor vehicle with a fuel cell is increased by providing that a defined quantity of the output power of the fuel cell system is consumed by a power consumption component in the heating-up phase and/or in the warm-up phase and that the consumed quantity of the output power is converted into power loss by impressing a suitable current into at least one winding of an electric motor which is to be energized.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 30, 2010
Date of Patent: February 28, 2017
    Assignee: Daimler AG
Inventors: Clemens Boegershausen, Matthias Lederbogen, Bernhard Vogel
  • Publication number: 20130334329
Abstract: A method for heating an interior of a motor vehicle having a fuel cell, a climate measuring device by which a climate parameter of the interior of the motor vehicle is measured, and a heat transfer device for transferring heat that is generated by the fuel cell to the interior of the motor vehicle. At least one operating parameter of the fuel cell is set also as a function of the climate parameter of the interior of the motor vehicle so that the rate of the heat that is generated by the fuel cell depends on the operating parameter.

  • Publication number: 20100221632
Abstract: In a method and apparatus for wetting a fuel cell unit on the basis of a predetermined dew point nominal value as a function of the operating state of the fuel cell unit, a corrected dew point nominal value is determined using a predetermined dew point nominal value, a component-specific correction value, and a process correction value. The corrected dew point nominal value is used to set the required amount of water for optimum wetting of the fuel cell unit.

  • Publication number: 20060035126
Abstract: A fuel cell system is provided having at least one switching means (16, 17, 18) for reversing the direction of a flow of at least one working medium in a fuel cell unit (10), with the fuel cell unit (10) having a cathode (11), an anode (12) and a cooling water device (13) in a housing (26). Advantageously more reliable operation with less component complexity is made possible by the switching means (16, 17, 18) being arranged outside the housing (26).
