  • Patent number: 6616990
Abstract: The present invention relates to chiral 1,3-dioxane compounds and diastereomers thereof of the general formula I where R1, R2 and R3 are as defined in the description, and the use of these compounds as chiral dopants for liquid-crystalline systems. The invention further relates to non-polymerizable or polymerizable liquid-crystalline compositions comprising at least one chiral 1,3-dioxane compound of the formula (I) of the invention, the use of these non-polymerizable or polymerizable liquid-crystalline compositions for producing optical components, the use of the polymerizable liquid-crystalline compositions for printing or coating substrates, for preparing dispersions and emulsions, films or pigments and optical components, printed or coated substrates, dispersions and emulsions, films and pigments of this type.

  • Patent number: 6385912
Abstract: A substructure for a sports field of the type which can be shifted on glide pads or rollers on a track of a foundation and in which the frame supporting the sports field can be lifted by pairs of hydraulic cylinders to facilitate inspection and maintenance of the structure beneath the frame. A track bridging the inspection and maintenance space can have a wedge-shaped section covering an opening for this space and hydraulically displaceable into and out of position.

  • Patent number: 6326879
Abstract: A thermal switch arrangement for electromagnetic coils of electric motors, including at least one coil, which has a winding (52, 54) and a coil former (30, 48) in the form of a winding core (32), which is enclosed by two end flanges (36, 38; 56, 58, 60, 62), and flat plugs (26, 28; 74, 76, 78), which are connected with the two ends of the winding and/or the connections of a thermal switch (80), assigned to the winding, and are inserted and locked in pockets (40, 42; 64, 66) in or at at least one end flange (36, 38; 56, 58, 60, 62) from the peripheral edge of the latter and locked. Two tags (82, 84) of the thermal switch (80) enter the pockets (40, 42; 64, 66) of the flat plug (74, 78) from the inner surface of the one end flange (36, 60).

  • Patent number: 4651899
Abstract: An additional container (29) for receiving further components is arranged in the container (21) for discharging preferably polyurethane foam. The additional container (29) receives a rod (37) cooperating with an inner cover (45) sealed in said container (29). The rod is led to the outside through a packing (31) in an additional container connection connected to the bottom (20) of container (21) and is movable into container (21) for blowing off cover (45). A disk (24) inserted in a recess of container bottom (20) and fixed by its beaded edge secures a sleeve (31) penetrated by the rod (37) constructed as an axially movable plunger. The outer and inner edges (39, 40) of sleeve (31) bring about a sealing action on in each case one radial collar (38, 39) of the plunger when rod (37) is inserted, and resiliently gives way during the axial movement of the plunger.
