  • Publication number: 20200173332
Abstract: An apparatus for introducing and distributing a flowable additive into an exhaust gas flow comprises an inlet to receive the exhaust gas flow from a first exhaust gas treatment device, an outlet to output the exhaust gas flow to a second exhaust gas treatment device, a flow conducting device to lead the exhaust gas flow from the inlet to the outlet, and an injector opening into the flow conducting device, wherein an at least substantially straight-line main flow direction of the apparatus is defined by the inlet and the outlet. A mixing section of the flow conducting device arranged downstream of the injector extends obliquely or transversely to the main flow direction.

  • Publication number: 20180142597
Abstract: The present invention relates to a device for introducing a fluid into a gas stream, in particular a reduction agent into an exhaust gas stream of an internal combustion engine. The device has a mixing chamber and a metering device by means of which the fluid can be introduced, via a metering tip, into an injection space defined by a protective sleeve, which injection space is arranged inside the chamber and is fluidically connected to the latter. The protective sleeve has an intermediate chamber which extends in the circumferential direction of the protective sleeve and is bounded radially internally by an inner wall and radially externally by an outer wall, wherein the intermediate chamber is fluidically connected to the injection space via a gap, in particular an annular gap, formed by and at the inner wall. The intermediate chamber is also fluidically connected to the mixing chamber via at least one opening in the outer wall.
