Publication number: 20110241375Abstract: A folding top drive assembly for adjusting a folding top with a fabric cover of a convertible vehicle between closed and opened positions includes a tensioning stay and a landau mechanism. The tensioning stay stretches the fabric cover when the folding top is closed. The landau mechanism supports the tensioning stay to a roof frame component when the folding top is closed. The landau mechanism includes upper and lower landau bars and a coupling element. The upper landau bar is hinged at its forward end to the roof frame component. The lower landau bar is hinged at its rearward end to the tensioning stay. The upper landau bar is hinged at its rearward end to the coupling element and the lower landau bar is hinged at its forward end to the coupling element. The landau bars are hinged at a distance from one another to the coupling element.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 24, 2011Publication date: October 6, 2011Applicant: MAGNA CAR TOP SYSTEMS GMBHInventor: Matthias Rösler

Patent number: 7472950Abstract: A vehicle includes a roof having a roof opening between respective sides of the vehicle body, and guide rails attached to respective sides of the vehicle body. A cover having guide elements is slidably engaged to respective ones of the rails to slide the cover between a closed position in which the cover covers the opening and an opened position in which the cover exposes the opening. A first sealing section is connected to one of the respective vehicle body sides. A second sealing section is connected to the cover on the respective body side. The sealing sections enclose a wedge line. A seal is between the sealing sections. The seal is compressed when the cover is in the closed position and is relaxed when the cover is in the opened position in response to a wedge effect generated by the wedge line as the cover slides along the rails.Type: GrantFiled: January 5, 2007Date of Patent: January 6, 2009Assignee: Magna Car Top Systems GmbHInventors: Wolfram Salz, Thomas Halbweiss, Matthias Rösler

Patent number: 7172235Abstract: A passenger car having a roof opening and a rear opening that are selectively covered by a segmented dimensionally stable roof and a rear lid, respectively. A linkage and actuator drive are common to the roof and rear lid. A supporting structure of the rear lid is connected to a rear roof section. The roof sections are connected by four bar linkages to adjacent sections. The angular position of a supporting link relative to the vehicle body is changed by the actuator drive.Type: GrantFiled: April 13, 2006Date of Patent: February 6, 2007Assignee: CTS Fahrzeug-Dachsysteme GmbHInventors: Matthias Rösler, Thomas Halbweiss, Johannes Reichel

Patent number: 5315075Abstract: The invention is directed to an exhaust gas muffler for an internal combustion engine such as a two-stroke engine for portable handheld tools such as a motor-driven chain saw. The engine includes a cylinder and a piston conjointly defining a combustion chamber wherein combustion gases are generated and discharged as a flow of exhaust gas during operation of the engine. The exhaust gas muffler includes a housing having a shell-like wall defining a chamber for receiving the exhaust gas from the engine. The housing has a primary outlet opening formed in the wall of the housing for passing a primary component flow of the exhaust gas out of the chamber in a first direction. The housing has a secondary outlet opening formed in the wall thereof for passing a secondary component flow of the exhaust gas out of the chamber in a second direction.Type: GrantFiled: January 26, 1989Date of Patent: May 24, 1994Assignee: Andreas StihlInventors: Wolfgang Junginger, Matthias Rosler, Thomas Rupp
