Abstract: An air-conditioning system for air-conditioning a vehicle interior is disclosed. The air-conditioning system includes a blower for generating an air flow, a heating device for heating the air flow, and a ducting system that divides the air flow downstream of the heating device over at least two part air flows and supplies the at least two part air flows via associated ducts to associated air outlets, through which the part air flows exit into the vehicle interior. The heating device includes at least two separate regions each with at least one electric heating element that is separately controllable via a control device. The at least two separate regions are each permanently assigned one of the associated ducts of the ducting system.

  • Publication number: 20230111338
Abstract: A method for regulating a PTC heating with at least one PTC heating element and a control unit for controlling the PTC heating element is disclosed. The method includes: controlling with the control unit the PTC heating element to a target output via a control variable; receiving via PTC heating element, with the target output of the control unit, an electrical input power and emitting a thermal heating output to an environment; in a testing step the control unit keeps the target output constant over a predefined plateau duration and checks the PTC heating element for a critical imbalance state where the PTC heating element regulates itself by an increasing of its resistance; and after the testing step, when the control unit detects the critical imbalance state, the control unit reduces the target output in a regulating step.

  • Patent number: 10902981
Abstract: A method for determining an operating state of a PTC thermistor element may include pre-setting a released electric output available to the PTC thermistor element via a control signal and superimposing the control signal, at least for a pre-set period of time, with an additional signal which has a pre-set time profile. The method may also include, during the pre-set period of time, determining one of a time profile of a consumed electric output of the PTC thermistor element and a time profile of a consumed operating current of the PTC thermistor element. The method may also include comparing the pre-set time profile of the additional signal and the one of the time profile of the consumed electric output of the PTC thermistor element and the time profile of the consumed operating current of the PTC thermistor element.

  • Publication number: 20200361287
Abstract: The present disclosure describes to a heating arrangement for an electric vehicle and a method for controlling such a heating arrangement. The heating arrangement includes at least one PTC heater and a control device for controlling the at least one PTC heater. The control device includes an HF pulse width modulator that generates an HF modulation signal in multiple modulation steps. The respective modulation step of the HF pulse width modulator corresponds to an output step of the at least one PTC heater, so that the control device, via the HF pulse width modulator, adjusts the output of the at least one PTC heater between a minimum output and a maximum output, step-by-step, in the plural output steps.

  • Publication number: 20190389274
Abstract: A method for digitally controlling a heating arrangement may include receiving a temperature value with a control device, the temperature value reflecting a current outside temperature. The method may also include determining via the control device, based on the received temperature value, a limit output of the heating arrangement that is smaller than a maximum output of the heating arrangement. The method may further include dividing the determined limit output into a plurality of output stages via the control device, a number of the plurality of output stages corresponding to a digital resolution of the control device. The method may additionally include controlling the heating arrangement between a minimum output and the limit output to one of the plurality of output stages.

  • Patent number: 9103469
Abstract: The invention relates to an arrangement for sealing line interfaces in a motor vehicle in which lines from an engine compartment of the motor vehicle are led into a vehicle interior, wherein the engine compartment is separated from the vehicle interior by a partition which has an opening, through which the lines are led, and the opening is closed on the vehicle interior side by a seal, which is fastened to a functional unit arranged in the vehicle interior. In order to enable a reliable sealing function despite the assembly tolerance to be compensated, a flange of the functional unit that bears the seal can be moved relative to the functional unit, or the seal is movably arranged on the flange, which is rigidly fastened to the functional unit.
