  • Publication number: 20100276842
Abstract: In a method of producing an injection-molded part, a material is processed and/or plasticized by means of a multi-screw extruder having a plurality of processing zones. An additive having barrier characteristics is admixed by a feed unit in at least one of the processing zones. The material is processed and dried in the extruder, and can then be transferred to a transfer reservoir for further processing.

  • Patent number: 7815833
Abstract: In a method for producing injection-molded parts, PET material is processed and/or plasticized by means of a twin-screw extruder having a plurality of processing zones. At least two processing zones are implemented as degassing zones. The processed and/or plasticized material is transferred to a transfer reservoir and then further processed by a piston unit.

  • Publication number: 20090218726
Abstract: A device for producing a plastic part that has a plurality of components includes a closing unit for receiving at least one mold in which a thermoplastic molded body can be shaped or positioned, and at least one polyurethane unit for introducing a polyurethane material into a larger cavity comprising the thermoplastic molded body. At least one additional polyurethane unit is provided for introducing an additional polyurethane material having different product properties into a same or a different, larger cavity. As an alternative, the at least one polyurethane unit can be adapted for an additional polyurethane material having different product properties for introduction into the same or a different, larger cavity.

  • Publication number: 20090102086
Abstract: In a method for producing a coated thermoplastic material, thermoplastic material is fed into a twin-screw extruder to produce a homogenous melt as the thermoplastic material is advanced. While the melt is in plastic state an adhesion promoter for a coating material to be applied later or a small amount of a coating material to be applied later as adhesion promoter is added to the melt which is then transferred to an injection mold and allowed to cure to form a thermoplastic body. The thermoplastic body is then coated with the coating material.

  • Publication number: 20070262489
Abstract: Apparatus for producing injection-molded parts, particularly PET preforms, includes a twin-screw extruder or multi-screw extruder for preparing and/or plasticizing material, preferably in granular form, which is transferred to a transfer reservoir. A piston unit further processes the material. The extruder has a plurality of processing zones, whereby at least two process zones are configured as degassing zones.

  • Patent number: 7048431
Abstract: A plastics processing machine for producing fiber-containing thermoplastics includes an extruder, and a scale assembly having a weighing plate for determining an amount of fiber to be supplied to the extruder. A fiber feeding device supplies fibers from a take-off unit into the extruder and includes a first fiber guide unit, which is securely fixed to the weighing plate, for removing the fibers from the take-off unit, and a second fiber guide unit which is decoupled from the weighing plate and so constructed as to route the fibers between the first and second guide units in a substantially perpendicular relationship to a gravitational force.
