  • Patent number: 11906462
Abstract: The invention relates to a system for determining and/or monitoring a state variable of a measurement object comprising an analysis sensor, a control apparatus and a read-out apparatus. The analysis sensor is configured to be introducible into the measurement object for remaining within the same, to be sensitive to an ion type and to generate measurement data based on a concentration of the ion type in the measurement object. The control apparatus controls the analysis sensor with respect to the generation of the measurement data. The read-out apparatus reads the measurement data out of the analysis sensor. Further, the invention relates to a respective method.

  • Publication number: 20180028074
Abstract: A device for monitoring a state of a living being includes a first sensor, a second sensor and an evaluation device. The first sensor non-invasively generates a measurement value based on a content of ammonia in the sweat of the living being. The second sensor generates a measurement value with respect to the respiration or the cardiac activity of the living being. The evaluation device generates a scalar measure of a stress of the living being based on the measurement values of the first and second sensors. Furthermore, the invention relates to a corresponding method.

  • Publication number: 20170169690
Abstract: An apparatus includes an object for sitting or lying on, a plurality of sensors arranged within the object for sitting or lying on, and a signal processing unit connected to the sensors. The signal processing unit is provided to generate, on the basis of the sensor signals, an output signal which describes a posture and/or a movement of a person using the object for sitting or lying on. The generated output signal indicates a center of gravity of the person and/or a physiological process occurring in the person.

  • Publication number: 20090194979
Abstract: The invention relates to restraint system for a passenger of a vehicle who sits on a vehicle seat that can be placed in different positions. Said restraint system comprises an interior that is defined by a housing (1) and at least on gas bag, and at least one triggerable outlet (36-38) which is disposed on the housing (1) and can be closed by means of a closing element (3) that is movable from a closed position into an open position such that an internal pressure in the interior can be adjusted in accordance with passenger load-relevant parameters during an accident.

  • Publication number: 20090062675
Abstract: The beginning of an apnea can be recognized reliably if a series of sample values describing the breathing noise of a patient are processed in block-wise manner, and if a fingerprint with a predetermined number of fingerprint coefficients describing a waveform of the sample values within a block is determined for a number of sample values within the block. Since the number of fingerprint coefficients is smaller than the number of sample values within the block, comparison of the fingerprint coefficients with reference fingerprint coefficients characteristic for the waveform at the beginning of an apnea can be performed efficiently and reliably, in order to detect the beginning of the apnea.

  • Publication number: 20090010502
Abstract: An occupant protection system or comfort system for a vehicle having a plurality of adaptive protection system or comfort system components which are assigned to one respective vehicle seat. The system components and which can be adjusted by a stored safety and/or comfort profile relating to a person when the person is identified by a person identifying device for detecting biometric identification features of parts of a vehicle occupant's body. The person identifying device has a biometric sensor for identifying the vehicle occupant, as well as an arrangement for unambiguously assigning the vehicle occupant to a vehicle seat.

  • Publication number: 20080290633
Abstract: A passenger vehicle restraint system that is capable of being placed in different positions, consisting of an interior defined by a housing and at least one airbag, at least one gas generator for delivering gas to the interior in order to inflate the airbag, at least one controllable outlet provided on the housing which may be closed by a closing element, such that an internal pressure in the interior may be adjusted according to parameters relevant to passenger load during an accident. A restraint system, which is easy to construct and can be manufactured cost-effectively, is provided by an adjustable stop element limiting the opening movement of the closing element, which is coupled to the vehicle seat such that the stop element is displaced according to parameters relevant to passenger load, in order to adjust the outlet cross section defined by the closing element located in its closed position.
