  • Publication number: 20240116297
Abstract: A laser marking system (200) comprising first and second laser marking heads (201, 202) configured to mark a product (221, 222). The laser marking system comprises a first controller (231) associated with the first laser marking head (201) and a second controller (232) associated with the second laser marking head (202). The first and second controllers (231, 232) are configurable to receive data (205) indicating information to be marked on the product (221, 222), generate laser marking vectors based upon the received data, and control their associated laser marking head (201, 202) based on the laser marking vectors.

  • Patent number: 11935418
Abstract: A method for visualizing an effect of wind on an aircraft travel comprising the steps determining at least one wind speed and wind direction for a predefined airspace, identifying a predefined travel route of at least one selected aircraft within the predefined airspace, calculating at least one reference distance flown by the selected aircraft along a route segment of the travel route in a predefined reference time interval, wherein the calculating uses at least one air speed of the selected aircraft at the route segment, the determined wind speed and the determined wind direction, and optionally at least one altitude, visualizing the predefined travel route or the route segment and indicating said reference distance on the visualized predefined travel route or route segment.

  • Patent number: 10807402
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for the thread-stitching of folded signatures, for which individual folded signatures which are successively lined up along their flat sides are sewn together with at least one sewing needle and at least one hook needle to form a book block. Prior to penetrating the fold of the signature to be sewn from the inside to the outside and before penetrating the eyelet of the previously sewn signature, the hook needle is rotated in such a way around its longitudinal axis that its hook is positioned in a vertical symmetry axis of the eyelet, on a side of the hook needle that faces the previously sewn signature. The hook needle can be rotated for this at an optional angle (?) around its longitudinal axis and the hook can be positioned at an optional rotational position.

  • Patent number: 8907070
Abstract: Glycolipids of branched chain alkyl oligosaccharides include a primary alcohol branched in the 2-position and an oligosaccharide, covalently bond to the alcohol in either ?- or ?-linkage (shown in Formula I and Formula II). These compounds show phase behavior not found for the corresponding straight chain counterparts. The properties involve an ambient temperature liquid crystalline appearance and thermotropic liquid crystal phase polymorphism. The formation of cubic phases is considered most interesting with respect to life science applications, e.g. liposomes for drug delivery. Depending on the choice of sugar head group and alkyl tail, various levels of water miscibility may be adjusted to meet applications requirements (complete solubility for emulsifier applications, e.g. cosmetic creams, to limited water swelling only, e.g. for the preparation of artificial membranes).

Abstract: Glycolipids of branched chain alkyl oligosaccharides according to this patent comprise of a primary alcohol branched in the 2-position and an oligosaccharide, covalently bond to the alcohol in either ?- or ?-linkage (shown in Formula I and Formula II). These compounds show particularly interesting phase behavior not found for the corresponding straight chain counterparts. The properties involve an ambient temperature liquid crystalline appearance and thermotropic liquid crystal phase polymorphism. Upon the latter, the formation of cubic phases is considered most interesting with respect to life science applications, e.g. liposome for drug delivery. Depending on the choice of sugar head group and alkyl tail, various levels of water miscibility may be adjusted to meet applications requirements (complete solubility for emulsifier applications, e.g. cosmetic creams, to limited water swelling only, e.g. for the preparation of artificial membranes).
