  • Publication number: 20240010296
Abstract: In the field of vehicle suspension, theoretically, single pivot architecture is the simplest way to produce a suspension. However, in practice, this requires specific parts to manage the forces associated with the braking system, which creates a complicated architecture that is incompatible with standard interface elements. The device according to the present disclosure has a specific caliper support member enabling this type of suspension to be considerably simplified and optimized. The device is provided with a single pivot rocker, which provides a single degree of freedom for the front wheel to move in an arc, a caliper support member connected to the rocker by a pivot joint coaxial with the wheel axis and a torque link connecting the rocker to the fork frame by pivot or ball joints. The device according to the present disclosure is particularly suitable for front steering wheel suspension, for motorcycles, bicycles, two-wheeled vehicles, etc.

  • Publication number: 20230265905
Abstract: A device for volume compensation of damping liquid for a damper includes a hollow cylindrical main body containing the damping fluid. A rod extends through an end of the main body to the interior thereof. The rod is secured to a piston inside the body, which divides a compression chamber from an expansion chamber. A compensation chamber is connected to the compression and expansion chambers via internal channels of the rod and piston. A plurality of orifices in the piston open into the compression chamber and into the expansion chamber. A rigid slider moves freely in translation through, around or inside the piston and/or the rod and closes and opens the orifices to connect the compensation chamber to the expansion chamber (or, respectively, the compression chamber) in the compression (or, respectively, expansion) phases. The device may be used in vehicle wheel suspension assemblies.

  • Patent number: 10981620
Abstract: A vehicle wheel suspension system includes two relatively movable portions and a resilient blade that includes two means for mechanical connection to both relatively movable portions, respectively. The blade has a flexural resilience at least 100 times greater than the tensile resilience, and is resiliently deformable between: a resting state in which the blade has an inwardly curved profile, and a maximally extended state in which the blade has an elongate profile, the length of which corresponds to that of the neutral fiber of the blade, while passing through intermediate extension states in which the blade has profiles that are less and less inwardly curved. The suspension system is deformable between an initial state in which the relatively movable portions are in a close configuration, and a compressed state in which the relatively movable portions are in a separated configuration and bias the blade.
