Abstract: Various solutions for avoiding denial of services with respect to mobile station (MS) and network apparatus in mobile communications are described. A MS may receive a first reject message from a network apparatus in a location area. The first reject message may comprise a first reject cause. The MS may also receive a second reject message from the network apparatus in the location area. The second reject message may comprise a second reject cause. The MS may store an identification of the location area in a forbidden location area list in an event that both the first reject cause and the second reject cause are received from the same location area. The MS may further search for another location area or tracking area.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide a method for handling reject in wireless communication. The method includes receiving, at an electronic device, a reject message indicative of a forbidden resource of a service provider network to use by the electronic device for wireless communication, determining a reliability attribute of the reject message, storing the forbidden resource associated with the reliability attribute, and maintaining the stored forbidden resource based on the reliability attribute.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide a method for avoiding reselection of fake cell. The method includes transmitting a first request for network service of a wireless communication network in a first cell from user equipment, receiving a first reject message without integrity protection, adding the first cell to a set-aside cell list, and selecting a cell from other cells that are not included in the set-aside cell list to request network service.

Abstract: Various solutions to Non-Access Stratum (NAS) security and handling of multiple initial NAS messages with respect to a user equipment in mobile communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may transmit a first message regarding a first procedure to a mobile network element, and transmit a second message regarding a second procedure to the mobile network element. The UE may receive a reply from the mobile network element. In response to receiving the reply, the UE may perform one or more operations that result in the second procedure being continued and the first procedure being discontinued.

Abstract: Various solutions to handling of registration rejects with respect to user equipment (UE) in mobile communications are described. A UE may transmit a first request to a first network element of a wireless network. The UE may receive a first reject from the first network element. The UE may bar the first network element in response to receiving the first reject from the first network element. The UE may transmit a second request to a second network element of the same wireless network or a different wireless network in response to receiving the first reject from the first network element. Alternatively, the UE may transmit a second request to the first network element after a period of barring time.

Abstract: Apparatus, methods, and computer programs are disclosed that include sending an update message to a core network by a voice centric user equipment coupled to a legacy access network supporting circuit switched voice service, receiving an updating accept message containing a status report of possible enhanced network capabilities of a non-legacy access network, and, in response to receiving the status report of possible enhanced network capabilities, determining whether to enable the non-legacy access network.

Abstract: A wireless device transmits a request message for receipt by a wireless network to at least one of request attachment of the wireless device to the wireless network and request location updating for the wireless device from the wireless network. The wireless device subsequently attempts an emergency call to the wireless network regardless of whether or not the wireless device receives a response to the request. In this way, the wireless device can make the emergency call promptly and without significant delay.

Abstract: There is provided a method, including detecting, by a user terminal connected to a public land mobile net-work, PLMN, via a first radio access technology and having requested a circuit switched fallback service procedure, that a network controlled radio access technology change related to the circuit switched fallback service procedure is not performed; and selecting a second radio access technology to be applied on the basis of stored information, wherein the second radio access technology to be applied is capable to provide circuit switched services and the stored information associates at least one PLMN with at least one radio access technology.

It is determined that the wireless device should revert to using the first radio access technology. At expiry of a predetermined period of time after the determining, the wireless device is caused to cease using or attempting to use the second radio access technology and to revert to using the first radio access technology.

Abstract: A method for enabling identification of a rejecting network in connection with registration area updating may include receiving an indication of a rejection by a network entity of a request for a registration area update procedure provided by a mobile terminal, and causing an information element to be inserted into a reply to the request that indicates the rejection. The information element may indicate an identity of the network corresponding to the network entity. A corresponding apparatus and computer program product are also provided.
