  • Patent number: 4323541
Abstract: A finely-ground nickel-copper matte is leached using an acid at a minimum temperature of approx. 80.degree. C. and under oxidizing conditions in order to produce a nickel sulfate solution and a nickel-cooper sulfide residue, which is separated from the solution and thereafter the nickel-copper sulfide residue is leached using acid in an autoclave at a minimum temperature of 110.degree. C. and under oxidizing conditions in order to produce an additional quantity of nickel sulfate solution and a copper sulfide precipitate.

  • Patent number: 4273642
Abstract: An electrolytic cell, especially for the oxidation of nickel (II) hydroxide, having a container for the electrolyte as well as anodes and cathodes fitted overlappingly at short distances from each other and connected to a source of current by means of lugs, which the anodes and the cathodes are supported by the container bottom and the lugs of the anodes and the lugs of the cathodes have been offset in relation to each other.

  • Patent number: 4125587
Abstract: A process for removing zinc from an aqueous solution of a nickel salt by liquid-liquid extraction using as the extraction agent an organic phosphoric acid dissolved in an organic solvent, adding a strongly oxidizing substance at an elevated temperature to the aqueous phase emerging from the extraction to precipitate the cobalt as a hydroxide and decompose the organic phase left in the aqueous phase and to adsorb it into the cobalt hydroxide precipitate, and finally separating it from the pure aqueous nickel salt solution.
