  • Patent number: 9819237
Abstract: A rotor of a wind turbine large-diameter rotary electric machine has a hub configured to rotate about an axis of rotation; a tubular structure extending about the hub and supporting a plurality of active segments arranged about the axis of rotation; and a radial structure configured to connect the hub to the tubular structure, which is divided into a plurality of sectors connectable selectively to the radial structure.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 25, 2013
Date of Patent: November 14, 2017
    Assignee: WINDFIN B.V.
Inventors: Matteo Casazza, Paolo Bustreo, Mattia Scuotto
  • Patent number: 9407126
Abstract: The invention refers to a direct drive electric generator for a wind turbine provided with rotor salient poles and a ladder-like cryostat for housing superconductive coils and keeping them at a cryogenic temperature while the interior of the cryostat is kept free of coolant. The invention achieves optimal thermal insulation of the coils without the need of a continuous re-filling of the cryostat and ensuring a good distribution of the magnetic field avoiding the use of expensive materials.

  • Publication number: 20150244222
Abstract: An active assembly of a wind turbine rotating electric machine has a magnetic guide having at least two slots separated by a tooth with a plane of symmetry; and a coil formed by a plurality of electric conductors, each with a substantially rectangular cross section and wound repeatedly about the tooth to fill the slots and form two heads close to the opposite ends of the tooth; the width of each electric conductor being less than a third of the distance between the electric conductor and the plane of symmetry.

  • Publication number: 20140356162
Abstract: A wind power turbine control method, the wind power turbine having an electric machine, in turn having a stator, a rotor rotatable about an axis of rotation with respect to the stator, and a mechanical bearing assembly configured to couple the rotor in rotary manner to the stator; the stator having at least one winding to interact electromagnetically with the rotor; and the control method including the steps of: estimating at least one quantity selected from a group including a distance between the rotor and the stator, the variation over time in the distance, and misalignment between the rotor and stator; defining a localized additional magnetic force as a function of the selected quantity; and regulating the selected quantity using the localized additional magnetic force defined.
