  • Publication number: 20220377611
Abstract: With multiple connections (20) communicatively coupling a User Equipment (UE) (12) to a wireless communication network (10), methods and apparatuses disclosed for performing flow control at the Radio Link Control (RLC) level advantageously control the shares of overall data conveyed on the respective connections (20) in a manner that accounts for changing conditions on the involved radio links (22) while accommodating signaling delays and other complexities that arise from distributed or virtualized implementations of the underlying processing apparatuses (18). The disclosed methods and apparatuses have applicability both to uplink multi-connectivity and downlink multi-connectivity, and apply to various multi-connectivity scenarios, including scenarios involving mixed Radio Access Technologies (RATs) and Carrier Aggregation (CA) configurations that aggregate two or more Component Carriers (CCs) for carrying user traffic between a UE (12) and the network (10).

  • Patent number: 10484258
Abstract: The present disclosure relates receiving a plurality of Protocol Data Units (PDU) of a PDU sequence over a radio interface; detecting that a PDU of the sequence of the received PDUs is missing, wherein for each of the received PDUs, identifying which Service Data Unit(s) (SDU) it relates to; based on said identifying, determining that a complete SDU is obtainable from one or several PDUs of the received PDUs, which one or several PDUs are later in the sequence of the received PDUs than the missing PDU; obtaining the complete SDU from said one or several PDUs; performing a packet inspection of the obtained complete SDU to determine the type of data it carries; and based on the performed packet inspection, determining that the complete SDU fulfils a predetermined criterion; and delivering the complete SDU before receiving a retransmission of the PDU which is missing.

  • Patent number: 9497647
Abstract: Methods and devices are provided for signal interaction with a radio network controller and a radio base station where a report signal comprising information indicating downlink performance associated with a data queue in the radio base station is generated and transmitted to the radio network controller. Hereby scheduling in the radio network controller can take into account the downlink performance associated with a data queue.

  • Publication number: 20150372935
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention include a method and apparatus for identifying at least one resource to be migrated from a source system to a target system; creating at least one resource in the target system with similar properties as the at least one resource to be migrated from the source system; and migrating the at least one resource from the source system to the target system.

  • Publication number: 20140376565
Abstract: Nodes and related methods are directed to grouping PDUs into sub flows based on information elements of the PDUs and selecting PDUs from sub flow according to a priority indicator calculated for each sub flow. The selected PDUs are sent in an order that provides a fairer resource sharing for real time like service sessions at the expense of bandwidth greedy applications. Reduced delay variability and/or reduced PDU loss probability may be obtained for real time like services when network transport resources are shared with bandwidth greedy services, such as file transfers over TCP.

  • Publication number: 20140325064
Abstract: A TCP connection controller (10) for controlling 3-way handshakes establishing multiple TCP connections between an initiating network node and another network node is described. It includes a TCP pressure limiter (12) configured to limit TCP pressure during network congestion by reducing the rate of a TCP message type (SYN, SYN-ACK, ACK) participating in the 3-way handshakes.
