Publication number: 20250254579Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for measurements and measurement reporting based on frequency specific priority indications. In one embodiment, a method performed by a User Equipment (UE) comprises receiving, from a network node, a measurement configuration that comprises one or more priority indications for two or more frequencies. The method further comprises performing measurements on the two or more frequencies in accordance with the one or more priority indications for the two or more frequencies and transmitting, to the network node, one or more measurement reports comprising the measurements performed on the two or more frequencies. In this manner, the network can immediately take an action(s) based on the one or more measurement reports sent by the UE, thus improving UE throughput and also removing the need for timers or multiple higher layer messages before taking the action(s).Type: ApplicationFiled: October 12, 2022Publication date: August 7, 2025Inventors: Pradeepa Ramachandra, Mattias Bergström

Publication number: 20250185000Abstract: Systems and methods for triggering Medium Access Control (MAC) Control Element (CE) for measurement gap are provided. In some embodiments, a method performed by a User Equipment (UE) for requesting gap status change includes: generating a MAC CE that indicates a preference for a Measurement Gap (MG) state; receiving an indication from base station granting permission to the UE to trigger a scheduling request; acquiring an uplink grant by triggering a scheduling request; and after acquiring the uplink grant, transmitting the MAC CE that indicates a preference for a MG state. In this way, the UE can dispatch the MG activation/deactivation with a very low latency; i.e., as soon as the MAC CE are available; the availability of MG MAC CE can trigger transmission; sending SR and obtaining grant to send the MAC CE. A common MAC CE design for measurement gap activation/deactivation and BSR saves latency and reduces overhead.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 21, 2023Publication date: June 5, 2025Inventors: Ritesh Shreevastav, Mattias Bergström

Publication number: 20250175854Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed herein that enable a wireless communication device (WCD) and/or a network node to perform a recovery action(s) when a failure occurs during reception, at the WCD, of a segmented Radio Resource Control (RRC) message. Embodiments of a method performed by a WCD are disclosed. In one embodiment, a method performed by a WCD comprises receiving one or more segments of a segmented RRC message and determining that an error has occurred before a last segment of the segmented RRC message has been received. The method further comprises, upon determining that the error has occurred before the last segment of the segmented RRC message has been received, performing one or more recovery actions. In this manner, a situation where the WCD combines segments of a first RRC message with segments of a second RRC message is avoided and, hence, errors due to such combining are avoided.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 27, 2025Publication date: May 29, 2025Inventors: Mattias Bergström, Malik Wahaj Arshad
