Abstract: The invention relates to the use as a deodorant agent of a compound or a mixture of compounds having formula (II): where R denotes a saturated or unsaturated linear or branched hydrocarbon radical comprising from 12 to 20 carbon atoms, where said radical R may comprise one or a plurality of ethylene unsaturations and Cat+ represents a cation or a mixture of cations, organic or inorganic, optionally being + or 2+, independently of the cationic charge and suitable for obtaining electroneutrality of formula (II) along with compositions containing same in a physiologically acceptable medium in association with at least one deodorant agent and/or one antiperspirant agent. The invention also relates to novel compounds and compositions containing same in a physiologically acceptable medium. The invention also relates to a method for treating body odor.
