Abstract: A medication units dispensing device having at least one cassette and a robotic subsystem including a motorized system and a robotic head where each cassette stores medication units of a medication drug and includes a housing, a slotted disk positioned at a lower section of the housing with slots being defined in a periphery of the slotted disk and a coupling wheel positioned under the housing and engaged with the slotted disk to rotate simultaneously with the slotted disk and where the robotic head is removably engageable with the cassette and is movable about at least an x-axis, a y-axis and a z-axis by the motorized system. The robotic head includes a motorized activation wheel engaged with the coupling wheel of the cassette when the robotic head is engaged to the cassette and an actuator for rotating the activation wheel. A method for dispensing medication units is also provided.

Abstract: A device and a method for shaping a wire used in medical procedures, such as a guidewire used in conjunction with catheters. The device includes a body having a working face, and the body includes a wire-shaping portion, the wire-shaping portion having an aperture defined therein which extends from the working face along an aperture axis. The apertures include a flared section and a tip receiving section connected to the flared section, where the tip receiving section is shaped and sized for receiving a tip of the wire therein and maintaining a position of the tip of the wire while a bending force is exerted on the wire towards the working face. In one embodiment, the wire-shaping portion has a mound-shaped portion projecting from the working face from which the aperture extends, which enables to curve the wire in a smooth shape that follows the mound-shaped portion.

Abstract: There is described a tip shaping device for shaping a tip of a guidewire, including an elongated body extending along a longitudinal axis between two end faces and having a lateral face extending along the longitudinal axis between the two end faces; and a planar body projecting from the lateral face of the elongated body, the planar body including a flexible section located adjacent to the elongated body and wrappable around at least a portion of the lateral face of the elongated body, the planar body having a guidewire receiving face adapted to shape the guidewire when received thereon and upon rotation of the elongated body over the planar body.
