  • Patent number: 9956368
Abstract: A patient interface device (8) includes a cushion assembly (100) that is customizable to compensate for anatomical variances from patient-to-patient and, therefore, provides an effective seal with the patient's face. The cushion assembly includes a cushion member (102) having a first side structured to engage the patient's face, and a second side disposed opposite the first side, a plurality of plate members (108, 110, 112, 114, 116), and an adjustment mechanism (120, 122, 124). The adjustment mechanism is structured to adjust the position of the plate members, thereby changing the shape of the cushion member to generally conform to the patient's face.

  • Patent number: 9802017
Abstract: Disclosed is a method of forming at least a portion of a mask (4) that is structured to engage at least a portion of the face of a patient (52). The method can be generally stated as including employing at least a portion of a data set (74) that is stored on a machine-readable storage medium (72) and that is representative of the shape of at least a portion of the face in generating a configuration for an cushion element (24) of the mask. The cushion element is structured to extend from a support (20) of the mask and to have an engagement end (50) bopposite the support that corresponds with the shape of the at least portion of the face. The method can be generally stated as further including subjecting a workpiece (78) to a formation operation to cause at least a portion of the workpiece to be formed into the cushion element having the engagement end.

  • Patent number: 9750663
Abstract: A system, method, apparatus, and computer program product are provided for interim volume verification. A system may include a first fluid container defining a first cavity, a second fluid container defining a second cavity, and a third fluid container defining a third cavity. Systems may include a pneumatic valve, where the pneumatic valve may be in pneumatic communication with the second cavity of the second fluid container. A controller may be configured to control the pneumatic valve. Systems may include a display configured to present a volume measurement to a user. A target volume of fluid may be caused by the controller to be drawn from the first cavity of the first fluid container into the second cavity of the second fluid container in response to the first cavity of the first fluid container being in fluid communication with the second cavity of the second container and the pneumatic valve causing a vacuum to be applied to the second cavity of the second fluid container.

  • Publication number: 20150283348
Abstract: An elastic headgear that automatically adjusts to fit patients of different sizes and shape and that may be customized through selective placement of various accessories. The headgear includes a strap member having a central panel and a first arm member and a second arm extending from the central panel. The arm members each have at least one first attachment feature. The headgear also includes at least one accessory member having at least one second attachment feature, wherein the at least one second attachment feature is selectively mateable with the at least one first attachment feature to allow the at least one accessory member to be selectively attached to and positioned along either the first arm member or the second arm member at a plurality of different locations.
