  • Patent number: 4608913
Abstract: The present invention provides an actuator comprising a hydraulic cylinder whose rod is connected to the shaft driving the controlled device by means of a transmission. The end of the rod of the cylinder penetrates into an accumulation chamber connected to the intake circuit of said cylinder through a distribution circuit comprising at least one non return calibrated valve and a balancing distributor with push rod and spring return which allows the drive fluid of the cylinder to be admitted into said accumulation chamber when the rod of said cylinder is at the end of travel under the effect of the drive fluid.

  • Patent number: 4415170
Abstract: A flexible double toric sealing ring comprising two toric sealing ring structures 2, 3 which ensure, respectively, a static seal and a dynamic seal. A counter ring is mounted radially on the second sealing ring structure and floats with it to allow self centering of the arrangement with respect to the valve seat. A sealing membrane 8 presents an elastically deformable structure 12 interconnecting the two sealing ring structures 2 and 3 while partially covering them. The two sealing ring structures 2, 3 are mounted on opposite sides of the middle section 11 of membrane 8. This double toric sealing ring can be advantageously applied to a butterfly valve.

  • Patent number: 4108199
Abstract: A butterfly valve having two interconnected synchronously movable discs spaced apart axially in the direction fluid flow. In order to ensure that fluid is not retained between the discs when the valve is closed there is at least one drainage outlet which communicatingly connects the space between the discs and the valve exterior.

  • Patent number: 4070002
Abstract: An actuator for a valve in which valve opening and closing is effected via a rectilinearly movable member having, at one end, a driving device and, at its other end, a return-movement arrangement. To-and fro movement of the member under the control of the driving device and return-movement arrangement opens or closes the valve, or vice versa. The return-movement arrangement includes a ramp connected to the member and a resilient energy storing cushion for acting oppositely to the driving device on the member with a bridging roller transmission rolling contacting the ramp so that, depending on direction of movement of the member, energy is either stored in or dissipated from the cushion.

  • Patent number: 4006882
Abstract: A butterfly valve of large diameter which comprises a body with a substantially cylindrical inner bore, internally lined with a ring that terminates at lateral flanks of the valve; a butterfly pivotally mounted in the body by means of valve spindles that pass through the body and the ring; wherein the body includes at least two annular grooves that are coaxial with respect to the bore; the ring being constructed with several aligned sections, such as two curvilinear sections and a plurality of rectilinear sections; wherein the ends of the sections are formed and vulcanized to shape after having been aligned; the ring further including, on its side adjacent the body, at least two annular tenons with heads that respectively engage the grooves, these tenons being smaller than the groove inlets; an empty space being provided between the tenons and the grooves, filled at the time of assembly with a plastic material that hardens by polymerization, for example an epoxy resin.

  • Patent number: 4006761
Abstract: Apparatus for supplying a liquid product to a pipe connected to the bottom of a vessel from a flexible conduit connected to a distribution system comprising a tank valve connected to the pipe and a coupling connected to the flexible conduit and adapted for connection to the tank valve. The tank valve includes a hollow body one part of which has a large aperture and a coupling mechanism for attachment with the coupling; a flap valve is disposed in the body for closing the aperture and the flap valve is connected via a linkage to an external operating lever; the coupling has a main casing with a connecting nose for lockable connection with the coupling mechanism of the body of the tank valve. A closure member is disposed in the casing for controlling flow of liquid product from the flexible conduit to the tank valve and a hydraulic ram acts on the closure member along with a cartridge having three springs of staggered force to provide the closure member with three stable positions of increasing opening.

  • Patent number: 3991974
Abstract: A butterfly valve comprising a body having an internal cylindrical bore with two radial co-axial passages diametrically opposed with respect to the bore and a butterfly including a spherical cap section and two co-axially projecting shafts rotatably mounted in the passages to provide pivotal movement of the butterfly in the body. An annular elastomeric seat member of U-shaped section covers the bore and the outer side faces of the body and the seat receives the shafts of the butterfly and includes at each of the passages a portion of spherical shape substantially complementary to that of the cap section of the butterfly. The seat has a cuff portion surrounding the associated shaft and a support which is independent of the seat bears against the base thereof.

  • Patent number: 3990675
Abstract: A butterfly valve for pipes having smooth ends comprising a body constituted by a metal casing of generally tubular shape with two dimensional bosses provided with coaxial passages. A layer of elastomer material externally and internally envelops the totality of the metal casing. Two shafts are rotatably mounted in the coaxial passages and support a butterfly within the body. The body includes at one of the extremities thereof an end portion which permits connection of the valve to a pipe by interfitting thereof. The other end of the body can be connected in various ways with the other pipe either as a male or a female fitting with associated annular lips.
