  • Patent number: 5003711
Abstract: A ski boot including an upper surrounding the lower leg of the skier, and a shell base for surrounding the foot of the skier. The boot also includes an apparatus for closing the upper on the lower leg of the skier, an apparatus for holding the foot in the boot, and a mobile linking device for linking the closing apparatus and the holding apparatus so that actuation of one of the holder and closing apparatus actuates the other of the holding and closing apparatus. The closing apparatus and the holding apparatus comprise first and second cables, respectively, and the mobile linking device is attached to a first portion of the boot. The mobile linking device includes at least one countershaft around which one of the first and second cables are at least partially wound to define a loop including first and second strands. The first strand is attached to the first portion of the boot and the second strand is attached to a second portion of the boot.

  • Patent number: 4984375
Abstract: An apparatus for closing the upper of a ski boot on a lower leg of a skier and for retaining the foot of a skier in the shell base of the boot. The apparatus includes a system for closing the upper on the lower leg of the skier which includes a first traction element and a device for tensioning the first traction element to close the upper on the lower leg of the skier. Further, a system for retaining the foot in the boot is provided, which includes a second traction element which includes a first and a second strand which extend to and are associated with a retention device for the foot, or, alternatively, respective retention devices for the foot.

  • Patent number: 4660300
Abstract: An alpine ski boot (1), the rod of which has a front collar (4) and a rear cap (5) arranged about a common axis (6), and the foot accommodating shell (2) of which houses, in its interior, a tarsal support casing (12). The collar (5) and the cap (6), on the one hand, and the casing (12), on the other hand, are respectively kept in position pressing against a skier's leg and against the kick portion of his foot, with a flexible brace (112) cooperating with an element (26) exerting traction by winding, allowing a phase of rapid approach, then a phase for the adjustment of the pressure applied to the skier's foot and leg.

  • Patent number: 4653204
Abstract: Winding device for adjusting the length and tension of the braces on a rear entry ski boot for tightening the skier's foot and closing the boot shank on the skier's leg. The device comprises a control button turnably mounted on the boot and having an axle offset with respect to its rotation axis, a toothed pinion turnably mounted on the offset axle, and a toothed ring coaxial with the control button and having one tooth more than the pinion. The pinion turns inside the ring. The braces cooperate with winding grooves via anchoring devices carried by the pinion and ring, respectively.

  • Patent number: 4633599
Abstract: A downhill ski boot (1), the upper (3) of which has a front collar (4) and a rear cap (5) placed mutually around an axis (6). The collar (4) and the cap (5) are kept in a position pressing against the skier's leg by tension on a cable (8) which is anchored by one end on the collar (4) or the cap (5) and on its other end on means (19) which allow traction to be applied to it by winding under the action of the elastic solicitation means for the reel in a direction winding up the flexible cable (8) and under the action of manual pulling means (81) allowing additional windup for adjustment of the pressure applied to the skier's leg. This arrangement permits a precise adaptation of the upper (3) of the boot for any leg conformation.

  • Patent number: 4621897
Abstract: This invention relates to an optical apparatus for and a method of recording or instantaneously visualizing enlarged stereoscopic images of objects. The apparatus comprises a stationary stopped down lens (1, 4) providing an enlarged image of an object (2), a first lenticular grating (3), the elementary lenses of which are positioned in the vicinity of said enlarged image, the angle of field of the lenticular grating (3) is substantially equal to the aperture angle (4') of the exit pupil of the lens viewed from the lenticular grating (3), in order to provide an instantaneous, composite, sampled image at the level of the focal plane of the first lenticular grating.According to one embodiment for instantaneous observation, the apparatus also comprises a relief reversing system (9), an observation system (10) and a beam expanding system (11).
