    Abstract: Disclosed is an adjustable bed or chair apparatus having a backrest, seat, and legrest or kneerest, each of which is angularly adjustable relative to a support frame; and the legrest and backrest are lengthwise adjustable for respectively different leg and torso lengths. A curved lever is pivotally attached to the support frame, backrest, and seat such that an occupant of the apparatus can angularly adjust the seat and backrest relative to the support frame by means of a hand lever. Locking of the angular positions of the backrest and seat is facilitated by a strap, spring, and cam arrangement.
