  • Patent number: 11304149
Abstract: Certain features relate to systems and methods for optimizing the radio frequency characteristics of signals transmitted between a radio base station (RBS) and a distributed antenna system (DAS). A self-optimizing network (SON) entity can determine adjustments to radio frequency operations and management parameters at the RBS based on radio frequency parameters measured by a measurement and configuration module at the DAS. Adjustments to radio frequency operations and management parameters can include adjustments configured to compensate for signal latency caused by the DAS. Adjustments to radio frequency operations and management parameters can also include adjustments to signal gain due to noise rise caused by the DAS. The SON entity can also measure nominal receive power levels for the RBS for purposes of open loop power control.

  • Publication number: 20190385202
Abstract: Techniques for medical coding include applying a natural language understanding (NLU) engine to a free-form text documenting a clinical patient encounter, to derive a first set of one or more medical billing codes for the clinical patient encounter and a link between each code in the first set and a corresponding portion of the free-form text. The first set of codes may be compared to a second set of one or more medical billing codes approved by one or more human users for the patient encounter, to identify at least one code in the first set that overlaps with at least one code in the second set. The code in the second set approved by the one or more human users may be retained instead of the overlapping code in the first set derived by the NLU engine.

  • Patent number: 10375587
Abstract: Certain features relate to systems and methods for jointly optimizing a radio access network (RAN) and distributed antenna system (DAS). A joint RAN-DAS self-optimizing network (SON) entity can determine target parameters based on parameters specific to the DAS and parameters specific to the RAN. The joint RAN-DAS-SON entity can optimize the RAN and DAS using the target parameters. Jointly optimizing the RAN and the DAS can improve the capacity characteristics, coverage characteristics, or the performance characteristics of the RAN and DAS. In some aspects, the joint RAN-DAS-SON entity can optimize the RAN and DAS by re-allocating power levels of downlink signals transmitted by remote units of the DAS to compensate for underutilized carrier signals in situations of low traffic load.

  • Patent number: 10149304
Abstract: Certain features relate to optimizing network resources in a distributed antenna system to minimize signal interference between remote units in the distributed antenna system. A remote unit is configured to measure an isolation level with another remote unit. Based on the measured isolation level, a self-optimizing network entity can instruct base transceiver stations to partition network resources such that remote units with isolation levels lower than an isolation threshold value radiate signals using different network resources. Remote units that have isolation levels higher than an isolation threshold value can radiate signals using the same network resources. By repeating the process across multiple remote units across multiple cell-sites, signal interference between adjacent remote units in the distributed antenna system can be minimized.

  • Publication number: 20170323060
Abstract: In a system with a display and an input device, a graphical user interface (GUI) may be presented via the display. A natural language understanding engine may be applied to a free-form text documenting a clinical patient encounter, to automatically derive one or more engine-suggested medical billing codes, which may be presented in the GUI. User input may be accepted to modify the engine-suggested codes in the GUI, resulting in an unfinalized set of user-approved codes for the patient encounter. The natural language understanding engine may be adjusted using the user modification of the engine-suggested codes as feedback, and the adjusted natural language understanding engine may be applied to automatically derive a second set of engine-suggested medical billing codes for the patient encounter, which may be presented for user review in the GUI before finalizing coding of the encounter.

A natural language understanding engine may be applied to a free-form text documenting a clinical patient encounter, to automatically derive one or more engine-suggested medical billing codes, which may be presented in the GUI. User input may be accepted to approve at least one of the engine-suggested codes and/or to enter one or more user-added codes in the GUI, resulting in a set of user-approved codes. The set of user-approved codes may be automatically correlated to a diagnosis related group (DRG) for the patient encounter, which may be displayed. In response to user input changing the set of user-approved codes by approving or removing approval of an engine-suggested code in the GUI, the DRG may be automatically updated, and the updated DRG for the patient encounter may be displayed.
