  • Publication number: 20060074004
Abstract: A light duty liquid detergent composition having improved greasy and baked-on soil removal properties is disclosed which comprises at least one of certain described fatty amine derivatives and an anionic surfactant formulation comprising an alkylbenzene sulfonate having a C6-C22 alkyl group. Methods for making and using a light duty liquid detergent composition are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 6506710
Abstract: A method for controlling the rheology of aqueous systems, particularly for those intended for underground use, includes injecting an aqueous viscoelastic fluid containing a surfactant gelling agent into the system. The viscoelastic surfactant composition of the invention comprises, as a gelling agent, at least one fatty aliphatic amidoamine oxide in a glycol solvent. The composition also maintains the levels of free fatty acid and free amine within critical parameters in order to achieve superior performance. The additives may be incorporated in the viscoelastic fluid to tailor its use in stimulation fluids, drilling muds, fracture fluids, and in applications such as permeability modification, gravel packing, cementing, and the like.

  • Patent number: 6323167
Abstract: The present invention generally relates to a textile softening composition which comprises, as the softening agent, a quaternary ammonium salt which comprises a mixture of mono-, di- and tri-ester components, wherein the amount of diester quaternary is greater than about 50% by weight, and the amount of triester quaternary is less than about 25% by weight based on the total amount of quaternary ammonium salt. The invention also relates to a softening agent which comprises a high diester quaternary ammonium salt mixture comprising mono- and diester components derived for ether dialkanolamines. The invention also relates to processes for preparing said softening agents, and methods of use as a fabric softener and as a hair and skin conditioner.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 20, 1999
Date of Patent: November 27, 2001
    Assignee: Akzo Nobel N.V.
Inventors: Ralph Franklin, Robert Mendello, Paul Albert Iacobucci, Dale Steichen, Phuong-Nga Trinh, Maurice Dery
