  • Publication number: 20240078422
Abstract: An optoelectronic computing system includes a first semiconductor die having a photonic integrated circuit (PIC) and a second semiconductor die having an electronic integrated circuit (EIC). The PIC includes optical waveguides, in which input values are encoded on respective optical signals carried by the optical waveguides. The PIC includes an optical copying distribution network having optical splitters. The PIC includes an array of optoelectronic circuitry sections, each receiving an optical wave from one of the output ports of the optical copying distribution network, and each optoelectronic circuitry section includes: at least one photodetector detecting at least one optical wave from the optoelectronic operation. The EIC includes electrical input ports receiving respective electrical values.

  • Patent number: 7049713
Abstract: A pulsed current generator circuit for providing current pulses to a device under test includes a current source for applying a current to the device under test and a controlled current shunt for shunting current from the device under test. A booster circuit is provided for supplying a booster current to the device under test when the controlled current shunt is opened and current again flows through the device under test, thereby facilitating recharge of a parasitic capacitance associated with the device under test.

  • Patent number: 6264017
Abstract: An elongated housing in the general shape of an inverted “U” having a lengthwise slot in a lower portion which includes six inner elongated conductor strips. Disposed within the housing and extending through the lower slot is a trolley with four sets of three conductive contact brushes each in linear alignment, with each set of three conductive contact brushes engaging one of four input power conductor strips. The trolley includes two additional brushes each in contact with a respective control conductor strip in the housing. The trolley is coupled to and controls the operation of a mobile machine such as used in automatic storage/retrieval systems. Springs urge the conductive contact brushes into intimate contact with a conductor strip, while support wheels on the trolley engage a lower, inner portion of the elongated housing for distributing the load and providing smooth passage over expansion joints or through transfer guides.

  • Patent number: 6179640
Abstract: A socket for use in testing packaged integrated circuits having leads depending therefrom includes a first member for receiving the integrated circuit package and having a plurality of holes for receiving leads extending from the package. A second member has a plurality of wire contacts for engaging the leads, the first and second members being arranged to permit relative lateral translation thereof. A cam is provided for sliding the first member relative to the second member and moving leads extending through the holes in the first member into engagement with the contacts of the second member. A socket for dual in-line integrated circuit package (DIP) has two rows of holes in the first member, and two slots are provided in the second member each aligned with a row of holes. The wire contacts extend across each slot. For high temperature operation (greater than 250° C.) the first and second members comprise anodized aluminum or a ceramic, and the wires comprise Monel or other high temperature material.

  • Patent number: 5261514
Abstract: A grounding cable reel for grounding a vehicle of the type used to service electrical power lines includes a reel assembly incorporating a conductive slip ring capable of conducting very large, short term ground fault loads, i.e., on the order of 20,000 amps. A first cable connected at one end to the vehicle's frame is coupled at its second end to a copper rod which extends through a hollow shaft which supports the reel such as for mounting to the vehicle. The copper rod is coupled to a conductive inner hub of the slip ring which is mounted to an end of the hollow support shaft. Rotationally coupled to the inner hub is an outer conductive swivel to which a first end of a second cable is coupled, while the second end of the second cable may be coupled to a grounding post or other grounded object. The second cable is disposed about the reel which is coupled to the outer swivel and rotates therewith.

  • Patent number: 5213292
Abstract: A tool balancer for manufacturing/assembly work has a swing arm mounted to an upright standard or column. A bracket mounts an articulating arm to the distal end of the swing arm. A tool holder is mounted to the distal end of the articulating arm. An adjusting saddle received on the articulating arm has a tooth which couples to one of a series of adjusting apertures on the articulating arm. Tension springs are connected between the bracket and the adjusting saddle to bias the articulating arm upward to offset the weight of a tool and to maintain the adjusting saddle in locking engagement with the articulating arm at the desired adjustment.
