  • Patent number: 4605714
Abstract: A catalyst component for olefin polymerization is a mixture of a transition metal composition with finely divided talc or a metal salt of an aromatic carboxylic acid. The talc or metal salt can be mixed with the transition metal composition during the production thereof or in a subsequent stage. Preferably an intimate mixture of the transition metal composition and the talc or metal salt is obtained, for example by grinding or by spray-drying. The catalyst component may be used to prepare an olefin polymer having improved properties.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 12, 1985
Date of Patent: August 12, 1986
    Assignee: Imperial Chemical Industries, PLC
