  • Patent number: 4498528
Abstract: In an installation for heating, ventilating or air conditioning the cabin of a motor vehicle, a conduit (10) has a wall (20) over which the edge of a flap (15) passes during travel of the flap to control the flow of air in the conduit. The wall has a rib or thickening (25) which engages the edge of the flap by friction to prevent the flap from moving away from a position to which it has been set.

  • Patent number: 4492361
Abstract: A flap (11) for controlling the flow of air in a duct, in particular in a heater or air conditioner installation for the cabin of a motor vehicle, comprises an assembly of two half-flaps (12) applied against each other and each having projecting hollow stiffener ribs (13) disposed substantially opposite to one another, to constitute a hollow box structure. A sealing ring (17) is moulded over touching peripheral rims (16) of the half-flaps. For given stiffness, this structure may four or five times lighter than a conventional sheet metal flap, thereby reducing the force needed to actuate the flap.

  • Patent number: 4482011
Abstract: The case has a housing (15) with an open end from whose annular edge (16) there depends an annular projection (20) constituting an elastically deformable lip which presses against the tube plate (13) of the heat exchanger, thereby sealing the housing around the tube plate.

  • Patent number: 4479668
Abstract: This invention relates to tubes and tube assemblies of plastics material, particularly for connecting heat-exchangers to circuits. Each tube comprises at least one median section, with ends respectively connected by elbows to an inlet section and an outlet section. Each tube consists essentially of two moulded pieces tightly joined to each other along a parting plane which is chosen so as to cut the median section into two parts along its longitudinal axis. At least one of the two moulded pieces comprises at least one of the inlet and outlet sections.

  • Patent number: 4465124
Abstract: A casing (10) for receiving a heat exchanger (12) such as a heater or an air conditioner for a motor vehicle, has an opening surrounded by a rim (13). The heat exchanger is inserted into the casing via the opening. To fasten the heat exchanger therein, resilient lugs (18) having inwardly turned latches (21) project longitudinally from the rim. The lugs snap fasten onto a peripheral flange (16) around the water box (17) of the heat exchanger. Assembly is simplified and speeded by the arrangement, thereby reducing its cost.

  • Patent number: 4402486
Abstract: A device for rotatably mounting a shutter in a piping of an air-conditioning installation of an automotive vehicle, wherein the wall of the piping comprises bearings cooperating with cylindrical end-pieces of the shutter and cylindrical projections surrounding the bearings and cooperating with tubular sealing lips of the shutter.

  • Patent number: 4368365
Abstract: A switching device, notably for the control of an electrical motor in an air conditioning or ventilation installation of a vehicle, wherein a rotary knob carrying a slider contact is mounted on a small column of the bottom of a cage, and a circuit plate is mounted on the end of the column and immobilized by snap-in engagement with walls of the cage. The cage is adapted to be fixed in a casing or support provided in an instrument board of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 4335646
Abstract: A device for mounting a motor-blower unit at the air inlet of a heating or air-conditioning installation of the passenger space of a motor vehicle, wherein a cylindrical cradle for receiving the motor cage comprises abutments cooperating with a lower edge of the cage, and hooking means formed by longitudinal fingers with resilient attachment, said fingers ending into hooks coming in engagement with an upper edge of the cage for fixing the latter against movement.

  • Patent number: 4267880
Abstract: A distribution device in the passenger space of a motor vehicle for the air arriving from an inlet opening of a chamber towards two ducts extending from said chamber and reaching air outlet nozzles, usually upper and lower, which comprises a flap rotatably mounted, for the distribution, about an axis at a distance from the air inlet opening. The flap has two branches forming a V with an obtuse apex angle and controlling the respective inlets of the ducts and the edges of which, which are remote for the pivoting axis, are constantly in the respective outlet ducts.
