  • Patent number: 10156690
Abstract: A fiber connection assembly includes a first and a second coupling member. The first coupling member includes a first housing, a protrusion protruding from a first side of the first housing, and a first optical connector arranged in the protrusion. The second coupling member includes a second housing, a recess arranged at a first side of the second housing and a second optical connector arranged in the second housing in or next to the recess. The coupling members can be coupled by moving the first member relative to the second coupling member in a first direction towards and onto the second coupling member, thereby inserting the protrusion into the recess, and then by rotating the first coupling member relative to the second coupling member in a plane perpendicular to the first direction and around a rotation axis until the first optical connector is connected to the second optical connector.

  • Patent number: 8879913
Abstract: The invention relates to a piece of customer premises equipment (CPE) comprising a physical connector (21) for linking to a broadband network and a distributing structure (NTU, 24) that is connected to said physical connector for distributing broadband elements over one or more service modules (RGUs A, B, C, D) for associated customer modules (CUEs E, F, G, H). According to the invention, said distributing structure (NTU, 24) comprises a plurality of mechanically modularly arranged connector facilities (25) at an interface between the distributing structure and the service modules so as to provide a repeatedly mechanically exchangeable connection for a service module (RGU) belonging to one service provider from a range of mutually distinct service providers each time. The distributing structure (NTU, 24) is further provided with means (26, 27) for making said mutually distinct service providers indiscriminately exchangeable among said connector facilities (25).

  • Patent number: 8781285
Abstract: The NTU receiving structure (14) is further adapted to receive a demountable casing (15) for enclosing a second network termination unit (16). The fiber management unit (11) is further adapted for accommodating the outer end of a second optical fiber with a second optical connector (32). The fiber termination unit (10) further comprises a second NTU connection unit (23) for positioning the second optical connector (32) in a position suitable for connecting the second optical connector (32) to a connector part of the second network termination unit (16) when the demountable casing (15) with the second network termination unit (16) is received in the NTU receiving structure (14).

  • Publication number: 20130343763
Abstract: The invention is particularly related to an optoelectronic device (10) for use at the location of a customer of a broadband network system. According to the invention, the device (10) comprises a first module (11) that comprises a transceiver (4) that has been connected to an incoming optical fibre (3) and a second module (12) that has been provided with user ports on the user-accessible outside (5) within which means (6) for carrying out an additional processing reside and that has been detachably attached to the first module (11) using co-operating attachment means (7) present on the modules (11,12) wherein two adjacent sides of the modules (11,12) have been provided with mutually corresponding connector parts (8) forming a connection by means of which the signals coming from the transceiver (4) are during use led from the first module (11) to the second module (12).

  • Publication number: 20120213527
Abstract: An optoelectronic device for bidirectionally transporting information through glass fibers between logically distributed users and a central station by means of transceivers of said central station. In particular, a set of several glass fibers (32) is connected in an array having a predetermined pitch to a multiple-operation coupling element (36) that is provided with lenses and that guides the downstream and upstream radiations from the glass fibers through a multiple-operation wavelength divider (40) which effects a spatial separation between the downstream and upstream radiations such that said downstream and upstream radiations are imaged on radiation sources (44) and photodetectors (46), respectively, said radiation sources being spatially separated from said photodetectors.
