  • Patent number: 3996640
Abstract: A filter system particularly suitable for use with a mobile floor cleaning machine. The filter system includes a first tank for receiving therein a contaminated liquid, specifically a floor cleaning liquid containing floor wax and dirt particles, and a second tank for collecting the filtered floor cleaning liquid to permit reuse thereof. The two tanks are joined by a centrifugal filter device having a rotatable filter unit which causes the contaminated liquid to flow radially outwardly through filter means which effectively removes from the liquid all solid particles except for particles of extremely small size, such as less than approximately one micron. The filter system, when mounted on a floor cleaning machine, has the first tank connected with a suction device which picks up the contaminated liquid from the floor, whereas the second tank supplies the filtered liquid to the brushes.

  • Patent number: 3976501
Abstract: A floor polish composition comprising a film-forming water-insoluble emulsion copolymer and an alkali-soluble binder resin is stripped from the floor, then filtered to remove impurities such as soil therefrom and then is reapplied to the floor. The floor polish composition contains a non-fugitive antibacterial agent or agents to minimize bacterial growth in the composition.

  • Patent number: 3931916
Abstract: A dispensing-type box having therein a substantially closed compartment adapted for the storage of a particulate material. The box has dispensing openings formed in one sidewall of the box adjacent the upper end thereof, which openings are normally closed by a flap which is integrally formed on the box and extends downwardly over the openings. The flap has a striplike portion thereof secured to the box at a location below the openings, with the lowermost portion of the flap being free of connection to the box to permit same to be readily gripped so that the flap can be released from the box and swung upwardly to uncover the openings. The box also has, on the side thereof opposite the openings, a handle structure which comprises a separate member disposed within the interior of the box and projecting outwardly through an elongated slot formed in the sidewall of the box. The handle structure comprises a loop-like handle which can be folded downwardly to overlie the sidewall of the box.
