    Abstract: The present invention pertains to an apparatus for providing current. The apparatus comprises a voltage regulator for regulating output voltage of a generating device to a predetermined level. The apparatus is also comprised of a voltage boost circuit for maintaining a desired current out of the voltage regulator at lower efficiencies. The voltage boost circuit is in electrical communication with the voltage regulator. In a preferred embodiment, the voltage boost circuit includes means for storing energy and means for controlling when the storing means stores or releases its energy.
