Abstract: Disclosed is a UV-C based skin sterilizer that includes a main console connected to a delivery system and a display screen, the delivery system including a dosing system and a UV-C light source, wherein the UV-C light source can be an LED array or mercury or xenon lamps. The dosing system includes an image recognition module that is in communication with a camera, a light absorption sensor, a distance sensor, and an accelerometer/speed sensor. The dosing system communicates with a microcontroller of the main console in order to deliver a three-dimensional mapping of a treatment area and to optimize the dose of UV-C being delivered for the purposes of sterilizing the treatment area. The display screen provides a user interface for viewing the three-dimensional mapping and to receive user input.

Abstract: A sterilizer device adapted to deliver ultraviolet (UV) light to reduce the bacterial burden of skin incisions or wound surfaces in animals and humans. In one embodiment, the sterilizer device includes a microprocessor that is connected to a control unit, a user interface, an audio input/output, a connectivity module, a power source, a timer, a vibrating alert, a sensor for detecting a distance between a treatment area and the device, and a memory. The control unit is connected to a UV light source and an accelerometer. The user interface includes a display screen and control buttons. The audio input/output includes a speaker and a microphone. The connectivity module includes a USB port and/or a wireless connection. The sterilizer device is configured such that when a user activates one or more of the control buttons, the UV light source delivers a safe dose of UV-C that can kill bacteria.

Abstract: An apparatus for use in a process to assist a user to prepare for a veterinary examination includes a computer-readable non-transitory medium storing a veterinary exam practice question, and a plurality of answers that correspond to the veterinary exam practice question, and a processor configured to receive a request from a mobile device, access the medium to retrieve the veterinary exam practice question and the plurality of answers in response to the received request, and provide the retrieved veterinary exam practice question and the plurality of answers for display on the mobile device.
