  • Publication number: 20180360506
Abstract: Provided is a bone fixating device that can be used both for closing the physys and also for fixing fractures through a stress band, wherein said device is based on the concept of two fixed ends joined by flexible wire, which facilitates both its installations and use, which also allows to perform a minimally invasive surgery due to the reduced size of the implant, whose profile must be as low as possible in order to avoid damages of the tissues during surgery. Thus, the design of the device of the embodiment allows the fastening screws to be located as far as possible from the physys, i.e. in the safe zone, reducing the ischemia in the physys and, also, allowing for the surgery to be handled percutaneously.

  • Publication number: 20180221067
Abstract: Provided is a bone fixation plate, which is based on a divergent, biplanar and segmental concept which consists in the use of self-stable screws with a divergent biplanar arrangement by segments, wherein each segment is composed by self-stable screws which diverge certain degrees to each other, ending thereby located on different fixation planes. Thus, the divergent biplanar fixation favors the stability in relation to torsional loads in locked systems, since unlike the fixation with cortical screws where the bone helps to support the loads by having an implant-bone contact, when self-stable screws are used the loads are transmitted in the interface between them and the implant, being very prone to “cutting out” and the fracture of the screws when these are located in only one fixation plane.

  • Patent number: 9474611
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing an implantable prosthesis, in other words, a biomodel, which can be implanted in a patient, preferably in the cranium of a patient. The method is based on the use of commercially available adhesive tape, in order to reduce the manufacturing costs of said implant since there is no need to heat same to very high temperatures in order to mold the material to be implanted. The implant is preferably made of titanium via a cold-production process, which requires initially supplying a rapid prototype from a CAD model that corresponds to a plastic mold, which is covered with commercially available adhesive tape, in order to obtain another model that makes it possible to form the model that will be transferred to titanium, thus reducing the ideal temperature for molding same.

  • Publication number: 20150327900
Abstract: The present invasion relates to a minimally invasive fixation plate for carrying out the correction of the deformation of the toes, known as Hallux Valgus, said plate is manufactured from a biocompatible material, preferably steel or titanium, which is also designed to facilitate the making of this minimally invasive surgery. The fixation plate comprises a superior portion or head with two double orifices with inner threads, where one of said threads has a larger diameter than the other, and a lower portion or bone insertion portion, wherein in a guide is attached through the larger thread which accomplished two functions: the first one is that it allows for manipulation of the plate and the second one is that it allows for the correct orientation of the drill bite and all the elements ensuring that the screw is blocked into the smaller thread which is straight and with a single entrance.

  • Publication number: 20150327894
Abstract: The present invention relates to a device used for centering a plate during orthopedic surgery, especially of the distal radius, where said plate centering device is manufactured from polymeric, highly elastic material that allows it to adapt to different bone morphologies. Thus, the plate centering device is used in orthopedic surgery, particularly in those related to peri-articular fractures, in which the commonly used practice is to attach the plate starting at the epiphysiary zone, where it is common to lose the plate's orientation with the remaining bone hence difficulting the fracture's reduction, making the surgical process more complicated. The plate centering device, by being elastic, wraps around the bone at the diaphysary portion, guaranteeing that the plate does not lose its orientation while it is being attached to the epiphisary portion.
