  • Patent number: 4236395
Abstract: The shank portion of a bolt member is insertable through aligned openings in plural objects which are to be attached together. A first abutment is fixed to one end of the bolt shank and a removable abutment is connectable to the opposite end of the bolt shank. A pair of clasp members are pin connected to an end of an annular member in such a way that they can be moved angularly together and apart. They are formed to include jaw portions which can engage a circumferential groove formed on the end of the bolt shank opposite the first abutment. An outer housing is connected to the inner member and is telescopically moveable into a position wherein a portion of it surrounds the two clasp members after they have been brought into engagement with the girth groove portion of the bolt shank. A key operated tumbler lock mechanism is provided for locking the housing in this position.

  • Patent number: 4057984
Abstract: A locking device for a pair of skis is actuable with one hand and includes a first and second attachment mountable on respective skis. A key operated first attachment includes an actuating means having an end which is positionable flush with the underside of its ski in a retracted position and is projectible, as the key is inserted, substantially beyond the underside of its ski in an extended position. The projectible portion includes a head which is part of a lock bolt and it is sized to be received through an orifice on the end of a shank portion of the second attachment. One lock surface is formed on the inward end of the lock bolt head and a second lock surface is provided inward of the orifice on the mounting bolt shank of the second attachment. Rotation of the key causes a mating of the locking surfaces which locks the first and second attachments so that the skis are secured together.

  • Patent number: 4031720
Abstract: A locking device for a pair of skis having a first and second attachment mountable on respective skis. The first attachment includes a locking bolt which is positioned flush with the underside of the ski in a retracted position and is projected substantially beyond the underside of said ski in an extended position. A head portion of the lock bolt is received through an orifice of a second attachment and includes a lock surface for mating with end wall surrounding the orifice. The lock bolt head is rotated to a locked position by a lock means which is operated by a tumbler. A bolt is threadably received into an opening formed from the upper to the lower surface of each ski and provides a mounting for a housing portion of each attachment.
