Patent number: 10738891Abstract: A seal assembly for sealing the compartment between a rotating member and a fixed element. The seal assembly comprises a first ring fixed to the rotating member, a second ring fixed to the fixed element, and a seal element. The seal element is carried by the second ring and is connected to said second ring by means of a fitted portion; the seal element comprises at least one annular pad having an annular seal edge. The annular seal edge projects towards a coupling portion of the first ring and is adapted to cooperate with the coupling portion along a substantially linear area of contact. The seal element further comprises a spring portion adapted to exert an elastic force on the annular pad so as to push the annular seal edge towards the coupling portion.Type: GrantFiled: November 9, 2017Date of Patent: August 11, 2020Assignee: FREUDENBERG SEALING TECHNOLOGIES S.A.S. DI EXTERNA ITALIA S.R.L.U.Inventors: Luca Breusa, Maurizio Buro, Pasquale Angiulli, Massimo Barban

Patent number: 10145473Abstract: A gasket for sealing a compartment between a fixed and a roto-translatory member. The gasket has a metal support ring adapted to be connected to the fixed member; first sealing means in a position adjacent to a first ambient containing lubricant and defining two first annular sealing lips axially spaced to cooperate with the roto-translatory member and to counter the passage of lubricant/external contaminants between the first ambient and a second ambient connected with the outside; and second sealing means axially interposed between the first sealing means and the second ambient and defining a second sealing lip axially spaced from the first annular sealing lips and adapted to cooperate with the roto-translatory member to counter the passage of external contaminants towards the first sealing lips; the first sealing means comprise two first distinct sealing rings, axially arranged side by side and respectively carrying a relative first sealing lip.Type: GrantFiled: April 6, 2016Date of Patent: December 4, 2018Assignee: FREUDENBERG SEALING TECHNOLOGIES S.A.S. Publication number: 20090127791Abstract: A seal assembly seals a gap between a fixed member and a rotating member housed therein, to prevent flow of oil from a first environment to a second environment of the gap. The assembly includes a first ring fitted to the rotating member, a second ring fitted to the fixed member, an elastically deformable seal attached to the second ring and comprising a first lip cooperating in a fluid-tight manner with a first mating portion of the first ring, and a spiral groove on the first lip to generate, during rotation of the rotating member, a fluid-dynamic pumping action to pump oil from a sealing area to the first environment. A second lip of the seal forms a contact seal with a second mating portion of the first ring when the rotating member is stopped, and a configuration detached from the second mating portion during rotation of the rotating member.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 5, 2008Publication date: May 21, 2009Applicant: CORCOS INDUSTRIALE DI FREUDENBERG & COSSO S.R.L.
