  • Patent number: 6833688
Abstract: A loop-type voltage regulating device, particularly for regulating a voltage of an automotive electric system that includes at least one thermal engine, a voltage regulator and an alternator operative to deliver a system regulated-voltage signal to and receive a regulation signal from the voltage regulator, the voltage regulating device including a control unit within the regulating loop, which unit is connected between the thermal engine and the voltage regulator and is adapted to supply the latter with a signal related to the engine operation.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 18, 2000
Date of Patent: December 21, 2004
    Assignee: STMicroelectronics S.r.l.
Inventors: Giampiero Maggioni, Maurizio Gallinari, Claudio Serratoni, Marco Morelli
  • Patent number: 6803768
Abstract: A method for generating a fault signal in a system voltage regulator by a phase signal includes detecting the system voltage and phase signal; comparing the system voltage and phase signal with respective fault levels; and generating a fault signal upon either the system voltage or the phase signal falling below the respective fault level of the fault levels. The fault signal generating method also inhibits generating a fault signal using a drive signal of the system voltage regulator. A diagnostic circuit for a system voltage regulator is also disclosed.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 19, 2002
Date of Patent: October 12, 2004

  • Patent number: 5818274
Abstract: A flip-flop circuit able to commute in correspondence with any logic transition of the input signal using a flip-flop and a logic gate of the EXNOR type receiving at its input a signal and the inverted output of the flip-flop. To the output of the EXNOR gate is connected a set-reset flip-flop which allows a reset to be effected after each commutation of the circuit in order to prepare it for the next transition.
