  • Publication number: 20240024609
Abstract: Patient breathing circuits with a boost-heated extension. In an example, a patient breathing circuit includes an outer conduit having a first end connectable to a patient interface and a second end connectable to a humidifier; an inner conduit positioned within the first conduit, wherein a first lumen is defined within an interior of the inner conduit and a second lumen is defined between an exterior of the inner conduit and an interior of the outer conduit; a first heater wire coupled to the inner conduit; and a boost-heated expiratory extension having a first end extending from the outer conduit and a second end connectable to an expiratory port of a ventilator, wherein the boost-heated expiratory extension includes at least one of a second heater wire or a metallic post for heating gases flowing through the boost-heated expiratory extension.

  • Publication number: 20230381437
Abstract: Systems and methods for a tracheal tube inner cannula having an integrated filter are disclosed. In an example, the technology relates to a tracheal tube inner cannula that includes a proximal segment; a distal segment; a tapered segment attached to the proximal segment and the distal segment. The tapered segment includes a tapered lumen; and an integrated helical filter having a proximal filter diameter and a distal filter diameter, wherein the proximal filter diameter is greater than the distal filter diameter, the integrated helical filter having a ramped surface that wraps around a central axis at an angle such that the ramped surface extends distally through the integrated helical filter, the ramped surface including a coating to trap particulates as air flows through the integrated helical filter.

  • Publication number: 20230191067
Abstract: Systems and methods for collecting breathing gas properties via a medical ventilatory filter and wirelessly transmitting the data to another device. For example, the filter includes a first housing enclosing filtration media for filtering breathing gases flowing through the filter, the first housing defining a first port and a second port exposed to the breathing gases; and a sensor assembly. The sensor assembly includes a first sensor coupled to the first port, the first sensor configured to capture measurement data for a first gas property of breathing gases flowing through the filter; a second sensor coupled to the second port, the second sensor configured to capture measurement data for a first gas property of the breathing gases flowing through the filter; and a second housing. The second housing includes a processor and communication circuitry operative to wirelessly communicate the sensor data to a computing device located remotely from the filter.
