  • Patent number: 9181673
Abstract: Methods are provided for the creation of large diameter piles in all types of soils (cohesive, cohesionless or rocky), particularly for the construction of bulkheads made of juxtaposed or secant piles, while maintaining the deviation from the vertical well below the limit ?2% required by European standard EN 1536. The invention reduces verticality errors, advantageously exploiting the accuracy provided by the directional drilling technology. Tools for implementing such methods are also provided.

  • Patent number: 9151011
Abstract: A drilling method and device is for the execution of diaphragm walls by cutters, (131, 105, 110) carried by a frame (130) supported by suspension and movers (102). A guide hole (200) is formed as far as the depth specified in the design at the center of the panel to be made. Excavation is started with the introduction into the guide hole (200) of a guide element (101) that is fixed with respect to the tool-holder frame and having geometry such as to copy the guide hole along which it slides during excavation. Excavation is carried out as far as the depth specified in the design. The tool is extracted from the excavation and the excavation is filled with concrete and a panel is formed. The method is repeated so as to form adjacent panels.

  • Patent number: 8757935
Abstract: Equipment serves to form consolidated soil columns having a non-circular cross-section, and includes a mast (2, 8), a rotary (3) which is rotatable and translatable along an axis parallel to the mast, a series of hollow rods (4) temporarily unlockable from the rotary (3), and a device to vary the rotational rate of the rotary in one or more prefixed angular ranges. A rotor (21) is directly secured to one of the rods of the string and operatively coupled to a device (20) generating control signals to vary the rotational speed of the rotary in response to the rotor angular position. A through clamp (10) is mounted to the rotatable mandrel of the rotary and is provided with locking members which can be activated to clamp a rod and make it integral to the rotary, and which can be deactivated to release the rod so as to allow the rotary to move relative to the rod.
