  • Publication number: 20240100410
Abstract: A protective device, in particular a shin guard, includes one or more stacked layers that are coupled together and define a first face for contacting the body of a user and an opposite second face for facing outward, with elements engaging the protective device with an anatomical zone. At least one layer is made of a polymeric gel having an elasticity sufficient to return to the initial condition after a deformation caused by an impact, or alternatively of an expanded plastic material that is deformable and elastically compressible. The first face has a three-dimensional conformation, with the areas of contact with the user's body projecting outwards toward the user's body to a greater extent than other areas that are recessed, the recessed areas being interposed between the protruding areas and failing to come in contact with the user's body in the absence of deformations caused by an impact.

  • Publication number: 20240041135
Abstract: A sock includes a foot part and a leg part extending up to below the knee and has, in one or more areas of its surface extension, one or more structural modification elements of a layer of mesh forming the wall of the sock. Those structural modification elements may be printed, for example, screen-printed, intertwined, and/or incorporated in the structure of the mesh, and are configured to respect the functionality of the leg and foot according to biomechanical, circulatory and neurological aspects to harmonize those effects with each other and obtain therapeutic, preventive and performance-enhancing efficacy. Two embodiments are specifically configured for activities that require rapid changes of direction, such as football, rugby, basketball, tennis, or paddle, and for activities that require the transmission of intense thrusts such as cycling or golf.

  • Publication number: 20230165316
Abstract: A sock or similar garment includes a foot part and a leg part, the foot part being designed to overlap the foot of a user and the leg part being designed to overlap at least part of the leg up to below the knee. Optionally, the foot part is closed by a toe part. The sock has, in one or more areas of its surface extension, one or more structural modification elements of at least one layer of the knitting that forms the wall of the stock. Those modification elements may be applied with different techniques, for example, printed with silk-screen, or incorporated or intertwined into or on the structure of the sock's mesh, and are configured to enhance the functionality of the leg and foot according to biomechanical, circulatory and neurological aspects, harmonizing those effects with each other, obtaining therapeutic efficacy and providing prevention and performance enhancement.

  • Publication number: 20060024636
Abstract: An orthodontic distalizing apparatus comprises at least one force generating element positioned intermediate a force dissipating element secured to the hard palate and/or alveolar ridge and a first tooth (e.g., a molar) that is being distalized. The at least one force generating element is positioned to apply a distalizing force on the molar in a direction substantially along a longitudinal axis of the dental arch and at a low level of the basal gingiva. The at least one force generating element may be configured to prevent inadvertent disassembly thereof during installation, adjustment and/or conversion of the apparatus between an active and a passive state. In addition, the at least one force generating element may be configured to be reversibly convertible between an active state and a passive state without requiring removal of the device from the patient's mouth.

  • Publication number: 20040250449
Abstract: The invention related to a springing element for shoe soles, consisting of at least one resilient cap-like member. According to the invention, the element has at least one notch, particularly a central cross-shaped notch, to divide the cap into at least four independent sectors communicating with each other along the base edge. The notch advantageously acts as a means for limiting the resilience range of the sectors whereby, upon reaching a certain flexing limit, the edges of the sectors come to mutual contact and restrict the range. Pumping means are further provided to increase air circulation inside the shoe and air exchange with the outside, as well as means for locally increasing the massage-like action of the dome on the sole of the foot. The invention also related to a shoe sole, and to a shoe having such element.

  • Patent number: 6394799
Abstract: Apparatus for the correction of the relative position between the maxillary and the mandibular jaws comprises a first guiding element and a second guiding element. The two guiding elements are mounted in a position lateral to the corresponding dental arch by means of anchoring elements. The two guiding elements are initially disengaged from each other and come together to cooperate only from a pre-set intermediary position of closure of the mandibular jaw toward the maxillary jaw. The two guiding elements constructed so that, from the intermediate closure position, they come into reciprocal contact and form contact surfaces with relative sliding movement. Upon closure of the jaws, the cooperating contact between the two guiding elements exerts automatically a push in a direction of the relative displacement of the maxillary jaw and the mandibular jaw for the assuming of the correct relative position between the maxillary jaw and the mandibular jaw.

  • Patent number: 6358255
Abstract: A device especially for osteodistraction, configured for attachment to different bone parts that have been separated, and that are bound together by the device which holds the bones parts in a pre-set position and/or simultaneously exerts pressure for distancing or bringing together the bone parts. The device includes at least two elements configured for fastening to two bone parts that are separate from each other. The two elements are coupled together and movable along at least one pre-set direction, there being inserted between them an elastic element for providing a thrust in the distancing or traction direction. The device may be removably coupled to the bone parts to facilitate installation.

  • Patent number: 6220856
Abstract: A device for the orthodontic and/or orthopedic correction in a dental arch. The device includes at least one thrust or traction element attached to a first set of teeth at one end a second set of teeth at an opposite end. The thrust or traction element includes a pair of telescopically engaged elongated members, a pair of stops, and a spring. At least one of the stops can be adjusted in an axial direction of the elongated members to regulate the amount of compression in the spring. The thrust or traction forces are exerted at a level of the basal gingiva and attached to the teeth of the first and second sets as close to the cervical zone as possible. The device permits expansion and contraction of the dental arch in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the arch, as well as lengthening and shortening of the dental arch in the longitudinal direction.

  • Patent number: 5785520
Abstract: An orthodontic distalizing apparatus, of the type applicable removably to a dental arch, comprises a supporting framework (1) equipped with anatomical means supporting framework equipped with an anatomical support device for supporting the framework on a part of the basal gingiva and underlying bony support of the arch, preferably on the lingual side thereof. The apparatus further comprises a device for anchoring the framework to at least one anchoring tooth and pusher elements that may be spring loaded. The pusher elements are interposed between the framework and a device for fastening to a further tooth of at least one side of the arch. The pusher elements exert a distalizing force in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the arch in the region of the tooth being distalized. The pusher elements are arranged on the lingual side of the dental arch, preferably in a position lowered toward the basal gingiva and underlying bony support of the arch.
