  • Patent number: 5237154
Abstract: A process for manufacturing a slotted hole screen made by mechanically joining a plurality of longitudinal members to a plurality of cross bars reduces joint roughness, burrs and recesses by including a step of covering the joints with a covering material which has a smooth exterior surface. The covering material is liquefied and has sufficient surface tension to form the smooth surface. In an alternative embodiment, the joints in a slotted screen formed by welding a plurality of longitudinal members to a plurality of cross bars are smoothed by selectively remelting the joints to form the smooth exterior.

  • Patent number: 4650125
Abstract: The sorting apparatus contains a rotor equipped with blades or vanes which move along a screen or sieve located beneath the rotor. The screen forms a partial surface of a body of revolution, such as a partial surface or section of a cylinder. The fiber stock mass which has not moved through the screen is upwardly propelled into a turbulence chamber or space by the action of the rotor and again falls back onto such rotor or another rotor. A domed guide surface serves to guide the fiber stock mass.

  • Patent number: 4601819
Abstract: The sorting apparatus contains a screen forming at least part of a circular-cylindrical surface and a rotor having a rotor shaft which is coaxially located at the lengthwise axis defined by the circular-cylindrical surface. The rotor possesses clearing blades and propelling blades arranged to follow or trail the clearing blades as seen in the rotary direction of the rotor. The clearing blades each comprise a front-positioned clearing edge which moves along the screen and a run-up surface which is inclined relative to a radial direction defined by the rotor. The run-up surface moves the fiber stock in a direction towards the rotor shaft and provides an open through-passage in the central region of the rotor. The propelling blades extend from the rotor shaft towards the screen and terminate at a distance from the surface defined by the screen.

  • Patent number: 4140214
Abstract: At least one pair of vertically superimposed conveyors are located in the bottom region of a bunker in order to discharge the bulk material. The conveyors are spaced apart to create a void or at least a loosened zone free from horizontal pressures in the bulk material between the conveyors. The void prevents the bulk material from bridging over so that gravity flow is not impeded.
