    Abstract: Two conductive metal plates are positioned a distance apart between the parallel arms of a U-shaped solenoid. Said plates extend beyond the width and length of said arms. When non-ferrous metal passes between said plates, said metal is moved by attraction towards the ends of the plates farthest from the solenoid which is powered by alternating current.
